Gonna be funny when it gets to the summer, it’s clear AD won’t sign with Boston and he becomes a one-year rental and the price is adjusted as a result.

I've read LA Times articles that basically admitted this same offer will be available in the summer, and the Lakers best hope with all of this was that the Pelicans wouldn't want to deal with a lame duck Davis on the roster.
I have no earthly idea why people keep thinking this offer won't be available in the summer. Even if the other offers aren't what the Pels are hoping for, it'll still be enough that the Lakers would need to put this offer back on the table.

Denver apparently offered a substantial offer for AD but we're holding on till the summer

Yeah too bad a there won't be teams that won't try to trade a top 3 draft pick for AD. Kawhi got the Spurs Demar DeRozan as a one year rental, is that value?
But yeah, Pels are acting on emotion. Definitely not what history has said time and time again.
