It's not Scottie's fault, but the field is just a lot better now. His competitors will always be a lot closer to him than Tiger's were.

This is correct.

Also the reason Tiger was better than Jack.

What he needs is someone to challenge him late in these rounds so he can make some memorable/pressure shots.
He had 6 birdies in the last 11 holes

Only jack has really stepped on the throttle like that in a masters win. Tiger never did

You saw that yesterday. He went off on the back 9 and the other players crumbled.

God take off the tiger woods sunglasses

2019 tiger

4 birdies in final 11 holes to win

Killer

2024 Scottie

6 birdies in last 11 holes to win

Boring

It’s “boring” because of the other guys, not Scottie’s fault.

Tiger had a 1 shot lead after 15 holes, made a birdie on 16 to go up by 2. Would have gone to a playoff with a double on 18.

Scottie was up by 3 or 4 at that point

I think 2019 being a much closer match is what leaves a different memory.
He was tied with Xander and Molinari after 14 I believe with Brooks trailing by only 1. And a few other big names 2 back at that point. That felt different than this.

Scottie is a killer though. Yesterday is proof of that, so I'm not denying that, just saying why those two tournaments feel different.

Scottie was tied on hole 8

On 11 it was a 1 shot lead as well

Tiger was down 1 on hole 8 and down 2 on hole 11 (and tied with Koepka).

Just different tournaments. Scottie is a killer though. He's so steady and you just know he isn't going to screw up. That alone messes with opponent's heads.

Dude it was psychological warfare with tiger.

Yesterday was just 1 man stepping on the opponents throats unmercifully but somehow it was boring and not anything like tiger did

I think the one thing that shows how mentally superior Scottie is than everyone else is he doesn’t fake shite

He admitted in 2022 he was crying before the final round and his wife had to comfort him. He still came out and blitzed the final round

At the Ryder cup this year he cried showing how much it meant to him

He doesn’t give a frick. He will also tell you in interviews he is nervous etc etc

Dude still kills you

Interesting that the big payday in Hilton head is attracting big names even after the masters.

It seems like absolutely nothing is going through Scottie’s brain in these moments, and I mean that in a good way. He is the opposite of a head case. Feels like he keeps things as simple as possible once he’s out there. You see so many of these guys debating club choice with their caddy, shot choice, stepping off a shot to reconsider (especially with the wind this week). I’m not sure I remember him doing that once.

It’s what makes him “boring” but it’s also absolutely clinical

Is that the one that is this week? Because Scottie said he had to turn around and tee it up again on Thursday. Assuming his wife still isn't in labor. Gonna be cutting this one even closer.

It’s also a no cut event so everybody gets paid this week.

I know. I wasn’t discounting that at all.

My point was maybe he needs a big putt on 18 to win the US Open type of shot to make enhance his “brand” so to speak.
