I don't think any of these people are going to get plea bargains, especially not Sandusky, and I doubt they're willing to accept the potential punishment if the judge throws the book at them.
I think he will plead guilty, no matter what he will be in prison the rest of his life.
The charges against the Penn State officials, according to the radio, have run the statue of limitations.

Second Mile was an independent foundation but since Sandusky coached here for 22 years after he started the foundation there are plenty of people who I know personally who donated to it. In fact they host a dinner here every year about 10-15 minutes from where I live and Sandusky is usually there (he wasn't at last year's dinner.)
Here's a blurb about how they cut ties with him:

The Second Mile not only cut off Jerry Sandusky from interacting with children in its programs -- it apparently stopped paying him, as well.
For years, Sandusky -- who founded the organization for needy children in 1977, was being paid $57,000 a year by The Second Mile, according to exempt-organization tax forms reviewed by CBS 21 News. But Sandusky stopped receiving any compensation from the charity in 2008 -- the same year he told The Second Mile officials he was being investigated for a sexual abuse in Clinton County.
"Although he maintained there was no truth to the claims, we are an organization committed first and foremost to the safety and well-being of the children we serve," The Second Mile said in a statement released on Sunday. "Consistent with that commitment and with The Second Mile policy, we immediately made the decision to separate him from all of our program activities involving children. Thus, from 2008 to present, Mr. Sandusky has had no involvement with Second Mile programs involving children."

Well, I guarantee you Sandusky thought of a way to access easy targets and then developed this program. He found the most innocent and easy prey out there and abused them more than they already were.

And I think Paterno may be one of the people doing some of it, or maybe being covered up for.
Great point. In the sense that he didn't nip it in the bud from the beginning, and that everyone else did their part to keep THAT under wraps and hoped the rest would go away.

Seems to me that everyone and his brother knew...just no one told...pitiful
Let alone walk into and confront an old man anally raping a child and just walk away. I'd beat the shite out of him.
Can you imagine these poor kids that see someone come in on this, hoep they help, and those people just walk away.

I don't see that as the case considering there are still kids under the age of 18.

They better find a way around that shite!

Um, isn't that something that the prosecutors would know before convening a grand jury and filing charges?
Seems like a judge would kill that rather quickly as well, if true.

Schultz's lawyer said his client was not among those required by law to report suspected abuse. He also argued that the two-year statute of limitations on the summary offense has expired.
Wow if it's true.

The perjury charges are definitely not outside the SOL.

According to this, there's a 5-year SOL on perjury. This case has been ongoing since 2008, so the contradictory statements would have been made within the proper time frame.

KDKA is saying Spanier resigns tonight and receive a generous severance package or get fired if he refuses to resign.

Ah I thought he was already out.
This can't come soon enough. Spanier out opens the door for widespread reform top to bottom. I hope and pray we do the right thing here. I would love to see Ridge take over.

is this statue next to Paterno's statue?

Perjury occurred just last year or earlier this year. That charge will stick. The others are a little less certain. Most SOL have situations that can toll the running of the statute, but I don't know the particulars of these Pennsylvania laws.

That's what I heard too out here. Really hoping for this to happen and Ridge to take out the trash.

Does your statement mean you've done a 180 and want Joe Pa out ASAP too?
Or are you still more worried about some insignificant record and the legacy of a count?

Show me where I said I wanted him to stay.
