Reading all about the missing DA, it seems like there has been some MAJOR cover-ups in this case.
And I think Paterno may be one of the people doing some of it, or maybe being covered up for.
It's disgusting either way, and will go down as the biggest sports scandal in American history.
It's going to get ugly.

Nothing to do with the NCAA.
This guy used the locker room to molest children on at least 3 occasions and there were red flags all over.
This is just another animal...

You're right. Nancy Grace's analysis is on the way.

To me, there is no question. This guy was the head coach for almost 50 years...you mean to tell me that a control freak would be cool with just dumping this off to his "superiors"? He as as much to do with the cover up as anyone else.

Unless I am reading the timeline incorrectly, it appears that Curley told the GA that he reported the 2002 rape incident to Second Mile in 2002, but Sandusky did not step down from Second Mile until 9/2010? Why did Second Mile continue to allow him to be involved if they knew of that incident?

Seems to me that everyone and his brother knew...just no one told...pitiful

Is anyone else cynical enough to think the state sat on this until after win 409? Or at least someone in the AG office "delayed" things? Someone please tell me I am way out in left field on this. I just find it strange that all of this news breaks AFTER win 409.

I don't understand.
It's not like they were covering up for Joe Paterno himself. It's not like it would crush the image of the university if they just would have handled this back in 1998.
It was some assistant coach. It was a defensive coordinator. Why all the cover up for him? Why is he so important?
It's stupid. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't the only one involved in this disgusting shite.

Willful ignorance probably seemed the easiest way forward rather than have to confront the unpleasant reality that one of your own was damaged goods.

1. Sandusky was the architect of the team's fearsome defense, which was why PSU was known as "Linebacker U" for years.
2. He was JoePa's heir apparent
3. The big one, IMHO, is the school's connection to Sandusky's "The Second Mile" foundation.
If it came out that "The Second Mile" was founded by a pederast, let alone that he was using the organization to find victims, it could have been devastating to the university.

Yea, there has to be a lot out there that we don't know about and it most likely won't be good for PSU and paterno.
Like I said in another thread, I think the NCAA might have to lay down the death penalty as punishment.
It might not be fair to the current players and those that knew nothing about it but they need to be made an example of.

Is "The Second Mile" directly connected to Penn State University? Is it affiliated with the school? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
And sure, it would have been embarrassing for your University. But don't you think when he kept doing it over and over again that somebody would have stopped and said, "shite man, we really need to get this guy away from our program."
All you have to do is ask him to retire and remove himself from the program. The fact that they allowed him to walk around the campus and use their athletic facilities years after the alleged incidents occurred is just plain stupid.
It seems like since the DA ruled not to prosecute Sandusky, the University just assumed they didn't need to do anything either. And that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. All they had to do was ask him to leave the program. He was old anyway. Retiring wouldn't have been that suspicious.
The entire University is an embarrassment. They handled this horribly. And, on top of that, they are horrible at covering shite up. They couldn't even do a good job of that. Basically, there are some retarded fricking people running that program.
They're all going to be fired. Every last one. From assistant secretaries to the athletic director. I think every football coach will be too, regardless of if they had anything to do with it or when they took their position at the school. They need to completely start over and re-build.

And just think these are only times this ahole got caught! If he was in the PSU athletic showers doing this he had to get away with it except for the few times he got caught! No way he would keep going back to a place he gets caught every time.
This guy is the worst excuse of a human possible and should be excecuted if proven guilty.
Joe Pa - Should be arrested also for not going to police with this matter and fired now along with AD.

Well, it has come out and that coupled with the coverup over so many years by both the Univ and Second Mile has made it worse a thousand fold.

Probably.
I don't think any of these people are going to get plea bargains, especially not Sandusky, and I doubt they're willing to accept the potential punishment if the judge throws the book at them.
