He's probably right, but you just cannot leave them off if they beat OSU.

We are dangerously approaching the point where the regular season doesn’t matter.

If a P5 school runs the table and wins their conference they should have the opportunity to play for a championship. Period.

Alabama is not as good this year as they have been in other years. The evidence has been right in front of us all season but some folks just refuse to see it.

No, the Broncos defense took Tebow to the playoffs. The Steelers defense, minus Ryan Clark, decided that Tebow couldn’t complete a deep pass so they played press coverage all game long. Demaryius Thomas took a 15 yard pass 80 yards for a TD in overtime.

You’d have a hard time finding anyone to dispute that. If your house was on the line though, you would pick them to beat Wisconsin if they played in 3 weeks, wouldn’t you?

You’re starting to talk like Skip Bayless with all the Tebow adulation and WINNER rhetoric I’m noticing

True.

But there are not 4 teams better than them this year. That much is readily apparent.

Sounds like you are reluctantly saying he was a serviceable game manager that stepped up in a playoff game.

He is correct they aren’t a top 4 but undefeated P5 champ has got to be in the playoff. This is from someone that hates the B10 btw.

This is the issue. When you say you will choose the 4 best teams. Schools like Alabama, Ok, tOSU will always get the benefit of the doubt.

It should be the 4 most deserving. Period. Just because of the bias towards blue bloods. For example, if tOSU and TCU both win today. Some people would still argue for tOSU being in the playoff, meanwhile I guarantee TCU would get absolutely no love.

My other favorite team is big10 (michigan). The issue you highlighted is why it needs to be an 8 team playoff. P5 champs get in. Period. Then debate 3 at large bids based on resumes.

But as it stands right now, IDGAF about anything but the 4 best teams playing for it all. If you win your conference even as an undefeated team but aren't one of the 4 best? Tough titty.

Bama doesn't deserve to be in.

This ain't about deserving. This is about the 4 best teams. Bama is one of them and you know it.

So we aren’t finding a National Champ we’re trying to find the best team?

I just wished they’d tell us what we’re looking for.

We're finding the best 4 teams. Then having those teams duke it out for a title.

I would be fine with 8 team as long as regular season was set at no more than 11 games. 11+CG+3 playoff would still put a cap on 15 games for 2 teams.

But if they’re not all champions how is it a “National Champion”

The best team isn’t necessarily the champion.
