Derek Fisher was the third best player on multiple title teams for the Kobe/Shaq Lakers...let that sink in.

what?
i believe kobe holds a higher place in NBA history and i would rather have him for 20 years than timmy but both have always been paired with other big time players. outside of kobe from 2005-2007 and 2013 to now, both always had at least a legitimate second option

Not a laker fan alive when ariza/artest were playing was giving parker or Manu credit as being better players

Lakerfan has pretty much always lorded the supposed talent gap over SA whenever were respective Sultans of tWest. The tune has changed for a lot of y'all now in retrospect, but Tbird remembers how it was

That's the point
Both fanbases change their perspectives depending on what's being argued.

Ariza and attest are no where near parker, or LMA, or kawhi. The talent they have had has always been pretty equal
I never said they were even close to Parker, LMA, or Leonard.
I said simply prime Howard for 1 year is better than what may be LMA for 1 year (assuming Duncan retires after this year). Even at worst it is "equal" since Howard was coming off injury.
I clearly also said Leonard >>> Ariza and Artest.
But to say Odom and Gasol don't compare to Parker and Ginobili is ridiculous...
Odom was a 13/10/4 guy off the bench and Gasol was a 18/10/3 guy starting. Clearly in the same realm of Parker and Ginobili, maybe even a bit better.

How this is a question, has to be proceeded with a question- are you a Laker fan? If not, here's a question....
Its Duncan. Duncan by no small margin.

Duncan by a mile. People say character doesn't count should look at this exact comparison.
Kobe wore out the welcome of how many coaches, players over the years through his dickish personality. How many people who have played with him hate Kobe? Probably a lot.
How many hate Duncan? Not many if any.
Duncan doesn't get the hype because he's not an in your face a-hole like most of the hyped players. He was fundamental, humble and dominant on both ends of the court. He also knows his role and can adapt.
Look at Kobe's dumb arse going out his last year shooting a million times a game. Where as each year Duncan just eases off a little more.
I wish more superstars were like Duncan. True pro without all the bullshite drama and look at me antics.

TD had TONS of help over his career. Just for fun, go look at those Kobe/Shaq team rosters. Yikes
They played with the most clutch shooter of our generation.

He was definitely clutch.
Wing is light years more important in the NBA than PF. Ultimately, that is why Kobe trumps TD. Well, that and the Barnes gif.

Duncan played with Horry too. Nice try though.

That's a pretty retarded post. Parker and Ginobli are both going to end up in the HoF.
Gasol might. Odom no.
I can tell you didn't really pay attention to those teams.

Been a Lakers fan my whole life, but the correct answer is Timmy D and it is not even close in my opinion.

What? You should win a title every year w/ early 2000s Kobe/Shaq. 2 of the best 3 players in the league and 2 of the best 15-20 of all time. That they didnt has everything to do with their egos and not talent
And go look at some of those Spurs rosters. Remember that they almost traded 2003 Parker for Kidd because he wasn't good enough. And that Avery Johnson was a starting pg on a title team.
This is Duncan all day, every day. Dude is the modern Russell- whatever he needed to do to win, he did it. Score, defend, pass, whatever. Kobes great. I love him. I have his FreeDarko print framed and on a wall in my house. But for Kobe, it was always about Kobe first, second, and third
