he quit playing The Byron Nelson once Mr. Nelson passed. He played it up to that point out of respect.

You mean that boondoggle golf course we built to enrich John Alario and attract a better field for this tournament isn't top flight? I've heard it was as good and up to tour standards as English Turn.
I don't play golf or visit courses, so I wouldn't really know.

There was a junior clinic there and the funds raised were suppose to all go to his foundation. It didnt and it pissed him off.
Nevermind it was said already....I thought it was money raised but Tiger's donated money sounds right.

even if the same type of scum is still running the city, and it's not a great tourney anyway?

yeah its still pretty stupid to not play in a tourney cause of city government.
If the tournament isn't that great, fine. I can live with that. But its good enough for guys like Phil and VJ to play occasionally

it's not that great.
even if he never had any dealings with city govt there is a good chance that Tiger might not play the tourney. Now, combine that politico BS with a bad placement in the season for Tiger's schedule, and the fact that's it not a premier tourney means that there is very little reason at all for Tiger to play the tourney.

so Mickelson and VJ occasionally playing makes it a great tourney? It's not a top tier tourney. simple as that.

who said it was a great tournament?
you are fricking dense. or really fricking bored.

well, you say that would understand if it wasn't a great tourney, i say "it's not that great", then you proceed to argue with me.
so, you said through methods of a sane person's logic and debate patterns that it IS a great tourney.

If it is not in the top ten, money wise, it is very close.

Because to qualify for the tours' retirement package a pga member has to play each event every few years.
The facts are that the course venues have been below average (for tour standards) and the dates have been historically bad (as is the case in 2010).

Has VJ or Phil played since moving it to TPC?
Posted on 11/25/09 at 1:13 pm to KCBasketball
VJ has for sure. He hated the course - and made it known
