I play and watch Golf and feel the same way. I enjoy seeing McIlroy, Speith, etc as much as anyone.
Unfortunately, the networks and the tour beg to differ, and Tiger still moves the meter.

The time for that narrative has come and gone. It's just not the case.
Look, I saw him swing from 18 in Phoenix. On Thursday. There was a herd of people around him, in the suites, all fawning over him. Fans of the sport love him and that draws people to the sport. The sport needs him, or "a" Tiger. Maybe not "the" Tiger.

PGA Championship did fine on TV without him. Best tournament in years.

Who would have thought that several years ago (2008 last major win) that he was at 14 major wins that Jack's record was attainable, now I'm beginning to think that this probably won't happen. Jack won his last major in his mid-40's and Tiger is in his late 30's but I think with Tiger and his injuries that he has missed his window.

He's struggling to finish rounds and make cuts. As someone mentioned previously the players no longer fear him. I'm not ready to write him off just yet, but time is running out.

Lesson for the kids, stay away from steroids and skanks! This is a prime teaching moment for the youngsters.

If they were ONLY fawning over Tiger, they are casual fans who were there because its the Phoenix Open.

It has "a" Tiger. And by that I mean a dominant player that can blow the doors off of the field any tournament, any place if he's playing his best.

The problem is that guy plays half of his tournaments across the pond.

Nobody is going to win tournaments at the same rate that Tiger did. Have to give credit there, he was winning about 1 out of every 3 or 4 tournaments that he teed it up.

Most youngsters would gladly take Tigers career, if steroids and skanks makes you a 14-time major winner and filthy rich.

Just means you can retire by 40.

You sayin he's never going to win there? I mean he's like 24 years old. He's got plenty of Masters chances left in him.

Never said that. I think he wins multiple Masters. But for him to reach Tiger levels in America he has to win at Augusta. Just my two cents.

I don't think a masters is gonna raise rorys level much. Hell, he can't get much higher

Now if he wins this masters coming up, he's got a chance to get a "Rory Slam" and I'm not talking about the coffee table variety

No country club white kid will ever dominate the media coverage of golf the way Tiger did, no matter how transcendent their play is. Not going all poli-board here, but it's just a fact that a lot of Tiger's appeal to sportswriters was "what Tiger means to the game of golf". I don't even think if another black or caublanasian came along, he'd get the same coverage.

Tiger will play in the PGA competitively until he's 60 unless he quits. Just 2 years ago he was POY and was playing great.

That would be 80 more majors.

Guy is far from done.
