Yeah that sucks hard for them. That’s two games in a row that were right there for the taking. Not a fan of spiking it to start the final series. I feel like they should have already known what they were going to do by that point and had the ball ready to go.

Meh. They've only played two games each. It took a monumental collapse from UCF for them to lose to Baylor and when Utah comes in they are going to to really well like they've been doing for a long time. Depending on how long Deion stays CU will probably be on a big upswing too. Those two alone can carry the conference while the others try to rebound.

Big 12 commish talking all that shite was dumb though. You should never set yourself up for egg on your face like that.

NIL. It's killing all the so called mid-majors. Some worse than others.

NIL didn't frick up La Tech. Panic firing Skip Holtz after the pandemic and replacing him w/Cumbie did that more than anything. Holtz deserved the time to right the ship and they believed they were a better program than they actually were.

Well “all” the fans must have gone remote too.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Skip Holtz was going through the motions after internal political issues during the 2019 season.

He needed to go. The national pundits ripped us for firing him for “two bad seasons” but all they were looking at were the records. The program was in a free fall and Cumbie is delivering the kill shot

Skip had mentally checked out and rightfully so. The dumbasses in "leadership" suspended their star QB for consuming a substance legal in most states. Not only suspending him for two games, but against two of the games determining conference championship game site. It was a massive frick up by administration who still hasn't learned a damned thing.

La Tech has been to 13 bowls. Holtz brought them to 7 of them. Sorry, I'm going side w/him over a school that once got itself left out of bowls completely b/c they thought the Independence Bowl wasn't good enough and should wait for them to call back.

You can believe what you want but coaching situations are a little more complex than a table on a Wikipedia page

La Tech admin and the boosters that pull the strings have done nothing but show their complete incompetence the last 15-20 years so I'm not sure why anyone should give them the benefit of the doubt.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Holtz was terrible by the end of his tenure at Tech & had maxed out all he could do at Tech. He left the cupboard empty for Cumbie. He had the team in 2019 that was set for greatness. Tech was up on Mississippi St in opening weekend by 20 in the 4th quarter & somehow lost. Then lost 2 weeks later on an insane Hail Mary at home to SMU that pretty much ended the season. The Conference realignment started & then the China virus hit & it has been downhill ever since. I can keep going but it could take awhile.

But that’s exactly who we blame, the administration. They screwed Holtz in 2019 and he was never the same after that. A change had to be made. I was as vocal a Holtz supporter as there was.

That's a good story, but all it is, a story. Tech wanted to wait to hear from the Liberty Bowl. For a reason, the Indy Bowl would not let Tech wait and wanted an answer. Louisiana being a shite show as always.

Hey girl from down the block. Yeah I'll go to prom w/you but I want to hear from the hot girl on the cheerleading team first. Wait and see if she says no yeah?

HEY WHY DIDNT YOU WAIT FOR ME?

La Tech had nobody to blame but themselves for that mess.

I do want y'all to complete this comeback though. Partly b/c I hate this defensive knockouts terminology the WKU coach has and I don't want it to spread but mainly b/c I do actually love y'all's uniforms.

This is why the new clock rule is so terrible. Going to completely kill most comebacks like this

I think Skip would have been perfect in this NIL/Transfer Portal era. He always went heavy on JUCO recruiting, so he was always reloading and knew the type of player he needed.

WKU has gained like 40 yards this half I would definitely kick deep and try to get a stop

Are you seriously equating bowl selection to prom?

There is a tad more decorum there.

and some odd thing - this is a one score game.
