What is with the Nebraska hate for Texas? Is it simply because Nebraska came is as the big bad wolf, and promptly lost the first Big 12 Title game in St Louis to a 7-4 UT squad? Is it because UT ended that 47 game home-winning streak in Lincoln? The Horns had their number for the most part in the Big 12, but I never viewed that as a rivalry with hatred underneath the surface.

Wasn't it the CU fans that caused the riot during the Colorado State game in 2012 Invesco and they had to basically mace the CU band?

*edit* the game my sister was hit w/pepper spray was not a CU/CSU game, she can't remember the opponent, just that it was a home game.*edit*
I do know that a CU/CSU game in '99 got tear gassed though. There was even a claim from the cops that CU fans started it w/home made tear gas.

I believe that game might have actually been the SOs first game as a member of the band TBH.
She has some pretty wild stories of how crazy it was when she was there.
Another one she told me was about the band getting into a fight w/Texas fans at that Big 12 title game in 2001 when people were trying to leave the stadium. Security had to come and escort them out.
They weren't kidding when would do the "frick em up, frick em up, go CU" chant.

KU fans were the worst ones I ever dealt with from the Big 8.
oSu fans were obnoxious and right on top of you at Lewis but generally harmless. Before the remodel the sidelines at Lewis were maybe 20 feet wide and you had no room.

When Texas and other SWC schools allied with the Big 8:
1. The Big 8 policy of allowing partial scholastic qualifiers to enroll and play was ended.
2. The football championship game was rotated among Texas cities, St. Louis and Kansas City, while the basketball tournament was rotated to include Dallas as well as Kansas City (they really hated that and a compromise was struck where the basketball would remain in Kansas in exchange for the football rotation).
3. The conference headquarters was moved from Kansas City to Irving, Texas.
4. The last Southwest Conference commissioner became the first Big 12 commissioner.
