Maybe you should teach him reading comprehension, so he does not end up like you.

Parents like that, who purport to "accept nothing less than the best" from kids who still watch cartoons and eat Flintstone vitamins

I'm not exactly saying that.

I don't know how to properly express how I feel about the matter. In HS I told my coach to STFU numerous times (in a polite way, never actually said STFU) when we lost and he said "good game, I'm proud of you". Well that's why we're not winning titles because you're proud of losers. I absolutely hated that and I made damn sure every other player knew it too. I don't really know where I picked it up from as I wasn't raised as hardcore about it as I am. Sure it was a "do your best" thing, but anyway now I'm just rambling.

Don't worry, my old coach and I are still pals.

Participation trophies are a sign of American pussification. I have no problem with these signs because they are aimed towards those parents who want to live vicariously through their kids because they want to recapture their days of playing sports or they sucked at sports when they were kids.

Yeah, the "Every one gets a trophy" stuff chaps me. But, I have no problem with the sign. You can demand stuff from kids as a coach/parent while still maintaining perspective.

"Hey parents, quit being assholes."

I'm sure Brysen and Kaedon will grow up to be perfectly normal, well-adjusted young men under the guidance of a big strong man like yourself.

Chilling discovery forces youth football league to cancel season

(TODAY) -- A little league season has been cancelled. It wasn’t cancelled because of a lack of funds or a problem on the field, but what league officials found when they arrived on Tuesday.

It was something that would chill the average person to the bone.

Live ammunition was strewn across the field and a closer inspection proved that it wasn’t a coincidence.

On each shell was the name of a league official. That’s when they called police.

The season is over in the Mount Pleasant Area Junior Football League in Pennsylvania and now investigators, players and families are asking the same question: Why?

So is this a case of irate parents and just how commonplace are these outlandish scenarios?
