Do yall consider Walter Payton the biggest super bowl choke of all time. A 3 yd average, only 61 total yards, and no tds. Should he even be in the top 10 when he was that bad in his biggest game? What about that freaking bum Unitas, the only Super Bowl his team won he got hurt and didnt win it. Needed his backup to do it for him. Or will we move the goal posts for these two?

Why are you laughing? Do you not understand what "choking" is? Choking is an inability to play to one's abilities in certain situations.

By this logic Jerry Rice is a bigger choker than Peyton right?

Hence, if by some odd twist of fate after 500 injuries, I was put in at QB for the SB and performed like Peyton, people would say, "damn, that dude played over his head and didn't succumb to the pressure".

By this logic Mark Sanchez is the greatest QB ever

Oh. And Manning's overall career postseason stats aren't "good". They aren't horrible, but they aren't good. They look a lot like the stats of probably 30 other guys who have played QB in the post season. Sure, he's been there more often(cause he's a great damned QB in the regular season).....and that's sort of the point. He's not supposed to get to the post season and turn into all the other guys who barely ever get there.

10th highest all time playoff QB rating. But please continue on and tell me who these 30 other guys are

Justin Tuck 4 sacks in 2 Super Bowls
Bruce Smith 2 sacks in 4 Super bowls

Justin Tuck is a Super Clutch God

They wont answer, just like they wont answer what i posted about walter payton. They want to judge only certain players on these guideline, because they realize how ridiculous it is when applied to others

Truest statement in the thread.

Can you respond, or will you dance around the comparisons? Is walter payton the ultimate choker?

Um. You need to learn Google.

I'm talking about choking. Apparently, while he aint very good, Sanchez brings about the same ability in the playoffs that he brings normally.

Manning does NOT. Not even CLOSE.

Try again.

Also because it's a silly comparison. Peyton Manning controls the ball on every offensive snap. Walter Payton did not.

Sweetness isn't to blame for Ditka giving his TD to the Refrigerator instead, something even Ditka now admits was a mistake.

QBs get judged differently than RBs and DEs. Only two people in this thread find that surprising.

Pretty tough to say that when the Bears, you know, won.

Oh how convenient, lets blame the coach instead of the choker known as Walter Payton

Doesnt matter, did you see how much worse he did compared to his regular season numbers? Or do we need to move those goal posts again?

Winners don't choke, almost by definition.

But if you enjoy the attention and want people to laugh at this silliness, please continue.

You Peyton fans have completely moved the posts off the field now.

Are you really this stupid?

Who has Johnny Unitas as the GOAT? I don't think he is.

Let me ask you this. Had John Elway won atleast one of those first 3 super bowls would he be considered one of the all time greats? I believe the answer would be yes. He was known as a choker in the big game until he finally won. This is a guy that holds records for comeback wins. This is the effect bombing in the big game can have on a career.

If he was really secure in his convictions, he would start a thread titled "WALTER PAYTON WAS A CHOKER!" and let the fireworks fly.

I never claimed he choked that one.

For that matter, I never claimed he "choked" this one since it was very clearly a team wide disaster but he certainly wasn't part of the solution.
