This fight hurt boxing

Any MMA fans tuning in to see it were vindicating in thinking that boxing is for pussies. The amount of times McGregor got ahold of Mayweather and the amount of times boxing fans got upset when Mcgregor would hit Mayweather with an "illegal" backhand ensured all MMA fans will never give boxing the time of day again.
Even more so, those same fans reactions probably showed many boxing fans how stupid boxing rules are compared to MMA/UFC.
This was a net gain for UFC, net loss for boxing.

i never really have been so annoyed with boxing clinching until tonight. that's one of the areas they need to revamp entirely
it's just bullshite on multiple levels
i mean shite for one example, connor's corner was clearly telling him to go clinch before the final round to rest up for the next one

Boxing has endured a ton of outright awful fights, and yet, they continue to facilitate mega events like this
I think boxing will be fine. In the end, boxing (at least in the casual sense) is something normal people enjoy. UFC is much more niche.

Not a melt. Didn't think Mcgregor would win. It's just when you talk about who wins in a street fight, no rules, man vs man, boxers Simply wouldn't win.
It was ridiculous to see Floyd cover and turn his back. Would you ever turn your back to someone in a regular fight? Try it and let me know what happens. But apparently that's kosher in boxing.
