Imagine dropping a couple grand for good seats for Novak-Fed QF and getting Millman.

I have been explaining to people who asked about my trip that you just have to expect the worst at tennis tournaments and if you even see any play at all, that's a win. Getting a top player is gravy.

I actually have a little doubt that Fed gave 100% in the 4th set breaker. I think there might have been a part of him that both wanted to just get off the court and also didn't want to get smoked by Novak.

Didn't he openly admit that he just wanted to lose and be done with it?

That mindset is what sums up why I am such a Rafa fanatic over Fed. As mentioned in here, you have to frickin destroy Rafa's world to beat him in a slam. You think you got this after bageling him first set? frick you I'm winning in 5.

Greatest competitor since MJ. He and Jordan are borderline psychotic.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this, but it absolutely blows my mind that Suárez Navarro just turned 30.

I mean, this is the same dude who quit in the U.S. Open Final against delpo 9 years ago, so not surprising.

We will never see another grand slam won by a player with a 1-hand backhand.

No love for Navarro.

Thiem's performance this tournament change your opinion at all on this?

Not too drastically, but yes. As Bunk said, and I agreed, Thiem and Titsy had the best chances to do it. Does this change his chance of stringing together 7 solid performances? Probably not. But his ceiling is scary good now (on slower surfaces).

Millman really is just an average player. Food for thought if you're Fed imo.
