To lose on that, yikes.

It may even be better. I was just thinking, who else hits one-hand backhands falling backwards from way in the corner and consistently puts them deep in the other corner? I seem to recall Stan only thumping when he's able to get set.
Thiem is a strong dude.

That match is just another example of why Rafa is my favorite player.
And, seriously, biggie ups to Thiem. Nothing separated those guys tonight. Tough one to lose.

This is interesting. Not sure if everyone knows the match is Friday instead of Thursday. I would think some money will come in on Rafa. But it's easy to forget that Delpo damn near beat the entire ATP Tour earlier this year on slower hard courts.

I will have to re-assess Thiem going forward. We always knew he was capable of spurts of greatness, but I'd never seen him sustain it for hours. He's also cut down on the errors quite a bit. It could just be a case of benefiting from the courts and conditions, but it seems like he has clearly improved at picking his spots to go for more on his shots.

Wish I could’ve finished it. Had to get up way too early this morning.

If it were the MV Sportsbook, I would be initially inclined to set Delpo as the slight favorite. Perhaps -130 or so. But then I'd be mindful of all the "public" money likely to come in for Rafa, and I'd set it right where the book you linked has it...even.
It's one of those, if you put a gun to my head, I would have to pick Delpo to win the match.
ETA: I have Delpo in a future at +1200, so I will put a token play on Rafa. I did the same with Isner and I'm mad at myself for doing it. You don't hedge for the sake of hedging, MV. Grow a set of goddamn balls.

Not to sound like a broken record, but he really could benefit from a little bit of nuance in his game. Just some variety. Change-up pitches. Set-up shots.
As it stands, he appears to hit every rally ball as hard as he goddamn can. Which is REALLY hard. Kid is strong as a goddamn ox, and doesn't appear to get tired ever. And he's a great athlete, so the physical tools are there. But until he adds in some constraint plays, I'm not bullish on his chances of winning a major
