Kei-120 v. thiem

Alex Zverev-305 v. RBA

A little dab I may do.

ETA: what rhymes with kicking spinner?

I'm not sure if what Kei did to Thiem is legal, but I'll take it.

Fricking sinner?

I was on Kei too, but couldn’t do Zverev as that would have broken my rule #2.

Fading Thiem on non-clay surfaces has to be one of the most profitable plays in tennis.

Preach on.

Oh, and what is your rule #2?

Never bet against Goffin or Bautista. But I'm wondering if I may have to re-assess that.

The thinking was that they always beat who they should beat, and vice versa. And since everyone is aware of this, there can't be much value either way. But maybe that level of predictability could be a good thing. My line of thinking is, "I know Alex will beat RBA, but I don't want to lay -300." Pretty dumb, right? If you know who will win, doesn't it make more sense to just bet it?

That's definitely true of RBA.

Actually, one of my smorgasbord of strategies is just to find guys like this. David Ferrer was the all-time great at this. He would NEVER lose to anybody he wasn't supposed to, and NEVER beat anybody he wasn't supposed to.

I thought Raonic might be a decent substitute, but he's been more variable the last couple years.

Exactly. The idea of value can be a little overrated at times.

I would avoid servebots for that strategy. I think Bunk mentioned before that their matches are usually decided by 2 or 3 points, which would lead to a lot of unpredictability, in theory.

So, Sock is sitting at 1750 points. He is due to drop 1000 this week, and 400 two weeks later. He will play the winner of Gasquet/Chapeau in Paris. Assuming he loses that match, these will be his new buddies in the rankings...

Roger wins Basel and Anderson wins Vienna. Mildly bold take: that will be Roger's last tournament win of his career.

Shut your mouth!

I'm not saying he passes Jimmy Connors, but he's got a few more in him. At the very least getting another one to hit 100.

Damn, what a time for Sock to be paired up with Nadal in the rnd of 16.

Seems like a crazy situation, but I'm sure it has happened many times before where hot players end up finding their stride in doubles and make a career out of it.

Shapov has been struggling.*

*I don't care for fantasy purposes because my brother conceded. I finished second. Got my entry fee back plus fiddy. Beats a poke in the eye with a hot stick, as my old man would say.
