Sharapova actually led the all time series 2-0. She is currently 2-17 versus Serena. Ha!

Serena and Grigor had a little fling right before he started dating Sharapova. Serena apparently really liked him and did not take kindly Dimipova. And so now whenever she plays Sharapova she just absolutely beats the frick out of her.

Either that or she's just way better than her at tennis. Or both.

Speaking of highly speculative but not implausible potential hatred between players, Cilic plays Djokovic tomorrow. Djokovic currently leads the series 12-0.

OK, interesting quarters tomorrow. Would have been spicier with Kyrgios and Berdych, but still solid.

Simon is a weird arse player. Seems like a pusher with no weapons, but has given Fed some fits in the past and owns Berdych. He is a true counterpuncher who thrives off of pace, can absorb and redirect it, and has good movement/anticipation. Can't think of many players like him other than Brad Gilbert or the ol big cat Mecir. Maybe Hewitt or Murray, to a lesser extent. Still, Fed is serving lights out. Fed in four.

Thinking Djoker in four. As SG said, Djoker is like 12-0 in h2h, but they went five last year. Cilic could go US Open mode, I guess.

Gasquet has a really good shot against Wawrinka. Stan likes a high bounce and to be able to set up shop to mash his shots. Grass can give him a lot of fits. I'll say Dick Gasket in five.

I want Popsicle to do well, but Murray is the type of guy who loves a target if Pospisil attacks. Plus, Pospisil played ten sets on Monday. It should be a clinic.

Apparently, the Swiss guys got relegated to Court One. Djoker/Cilic on Centre is justified, but Murray against an unseeded player is not.

I wouldn't change your characterization of Simon a bit. Counerpuncher. Arguably a pusher by pro standards. But moves really well. He doesn't push the ball to the extent that Mecir did (got I hated that guy). Maybe a less junky Wilander? A taller but less determined Chang? Or maybe Hewitt works okay (but without the tenacity).

Anyway, I just don't see how a guy like that beats Federer on grass. What does he hurt him with? I think Fed imposes his will in three.

I'll co-sign Djoker in four, but I'll just note that putting down a sprinkle on Cilic might not be a terrible idea. Grass would be the best surface for him to break the streak and, as you noted, they played tight last year.

I'm gonna go Stan The Man in four. I just don't trust Gassy Geigh in big match situations. He's like the anti-gamer. I think he hit his big match peak at 13 against Rafa. Gasgquet v Nadal at 13 years old.

Agreed on Pospy. I like his game and want him to maintain some consistency in his results so that Servebot Raonic gets firmly established as the third best Canuck tennis player behind him and Genie. BUT...he's played too many sets at this point. He has to be running on fumes. Murray in three, unless Murray decides to go Full Murray and randomly drops a set while having an ongoing dialogue with himself. Murray in less than or equal to 4.

Fed got broken serving for the second set at 5-4. Tiebreaker will be huge if it gets there.

Fowler put the o/u at 2.5 sets lost today by the favorites. he picked under at 2. i said it would be 4, thinking someone would go to 5 sets today. so far, it's looking like the under.

I think Fed is the favorite at this point. The way the grass is playing this year is perfect for him. And to be honest, I think we are going to get an all Swiss final.

Not sure Fed could take out both Murray and Djokovic in the same tourney.

I thought I would post this here instead of starting a new thread since all the people that care are probably in it. Here is a link to my pictures from the French Open and I put a few of my favorite below.
