i think you'll see them or West Monroe tomorrow...

West Monroe must have done some big offseason work to get a ranking in the top 4. They were mediocre last year.

WM was young. They have mediocre teams every 5 years or so, usually followed by a trip to the dome.

With Shows, yes.

I'm sure he passed on some of his recruiting tips to the other coaches.

repeat after me... recruiting doesn't have near the impact that holdbacks do....
at a lot of schools...

I was a holdback. But not at WM.

i don't get that... the rule is the same for all schools is it not?

yes but that does not by any means make it right.

I dunno man, why pick and choose when you can recruit AND holdback?
Posted on 8/4/14 at 4:09 pm to choupiquesushi
My point was that WM isn't the only school that has hold backs.

oh I know... but if you look at several programs - at the end of the day their rise is more tied to hold backs than it is recruiting.

WM lost #1 and #2 their QBs to injury last year and was using a LB as the QB.

i think they have equal weight and yes hold backs are definetely a problem

That doesn't mean much in HS. Especially for a team that is run heavy. You don't need to pass the ball in high school.

except when you do...
every team thinks they're gonna take the early lead, run the ball, play defense, and control the clock... no team ever says they're gonna fall behind early and have to play catch up

quote:Holy crap trying to watch Byrd throw at the end of the game last year was downright amazing. There had to be someone on the bench that could throw better then that kid. He threw it 8 yards max
except when you do..
