The Mississippi schools and LSU are overrated. Not the conference. MSU got credit for beating Texas aTm when everyone thought they were good. Turns out they were dogshit. They didn't beat much of anyone all year. Ole Miss got stomped by 7-6 Arkansas. If you didn't see this coming, you don't know much about football.

This is what it proves- Either win your fricking conference or you do not get to play for the championship. There is no need to crown a conference as best and see rematches of conference games. So what if one is a little down, make a conference champ worth something again.

Pretty hilarious all the ACC fans in here jerking each other off when, despite a poor showing so far, the SEC still has a better bowl record and better head to head bowl record than the ACC.
Even at its worst it's still better than the ACC.

Yes, ONLY conference champs should be in the playoff. Why even play the games if you are going to ranks them by what you think they look like? If you lose on the field and another team takes advantage, then you should be left out. I have said that when my team was hot but didn't win when it counted.

It's overrated by the SEC homers who made it seem like the SEC West was the best division this side of the NFC West. It's still the best, there's just more depth in the SEC than other conferences, but the gap is not as wide as the homers will have you believe.

The SEC more BCS games and National Champioships than any other conference since it inception in 1998....That spans 15 years and I challenge the OP to respond
