What a sand save from McIlroy on 18. finishes -1 today, Even Par for the championship only 4 shots back of the leaders. He's in contention. Fowler also finishes E.

If he would have played 1 or 2 tournaments in the last 4 weeks he might be leading. His putting stroke is off, and that's from a lack of playing. If his putter heats up on the weekend he can rocket up the leaderboard.
All in all, I'm pretty impressed that he has held up this well with all of that pressure and the lack of a solid putter for the first two days.

I've about had it with all the shutters you can hear from cameras.
Something needs to be done. Golf is 90% mental and when you have to step back from your address, you KNOW it messes up their mental rhythm.

Dont know why you keep saying this. He didn't play in any tournaments. It's not like he didn't play or practice a ton. He's taken weeks off before.

Putting in practice time is not the same as actually playing in tournaments. When you take some time off it's usually the short game that is the hardest to get back on track. Rory has had plenty of birdie chances but he just can't get the putts to fall... yet.

Phil might be the worst putter I have ever seen in my life.

Even worse than my boy Sergio?

More of late than career wise.
He's missed more putts under 10 feet than anyone I have seen in a long time.
Sucks b/c I'm a Phil fan.

Phil is the king of the impossible save to within 4 feet and then miss the par putt.

There was a couple today that made me want to put my head through a wall. And Serge is ok.

I didn't even see him play today. I didn't go to sleep last night until 4:00 AM, so after hardly seeing him at all on the first 3 holes, I slept through his round. Did he blow a couple of short ones today? I noticed that he has 4 birdies in two rounds, and all 4 came on the two par 5's both days.

He is a streaky putter, but does seem to struggle with the 4-6 footers lately.
