Done deal.

I bet the Wild still don't make the playoffs.

Suter isn't really that good, was never a fan of him, especially for the money, for a guy thats never even been an All Star and was the #2 D Man in Nashville.

Parise is downgrading from NJD to Minny in every sense of the word.

Pittsburgh and Detroit strike out on Parise, and Detroit strikes out on Suter.

@TheFourthPeriod: Final details and paperwork being ironed out for Parise, but he'll be a Wild.

Pierre LeBrun ?@Real_ESPNLeBrun
Zach Parise has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Wild

Was hoping he signed with Pitt to really force NYR/Philly to make a move for Nash, but this is the next best thing. By not signing with Detroit or NYR or Philly, higher chance of bidding war.

On a side note, the Devils board is in full meltdown mode right now.

Their HFboard? That's what I've been on last few days.

Funny shite, Parise bashing left and right.

I'm just glad they went to the Western Conference and to a team that's a non factor even after this Free Agency period. Wild suck.

13 years 98 million for each Parise and Suter.

I can't help but laugh my arse off that Ryan Suter, an above average D man just got a 13 year 98 million dollar deal.

Overpay much?

Nashville offered Suter a 13 year 90 million dollar deal, how bad did he want out of Nashville? I bet Preds fans are furious knowing that. Shea Weber>Suter anyways.

My friend from Jersey was telling me how big it was to retain Parise. I text him today about it and his response was "eh, no big deal.".

Yeah. They went after the money, not a championship. Of course, that's just for the foreseeable future (i.e. next 3 or 4 years). Given that the deals are for 13 years, maybe the Wild will form a dynasty during that time.

Which is funny because over the past 3 days the only thing Parise has really said is it's not about the money.

Who doesn't say that anymore? Then they wind up taking the biggest contract for the money.

I think the Wild made a big mistake giving that much money for these 2 players IMO.

I also don't think they are a playoff team next year, and Backstrom is a UFA after next year, unlikely they can pay him what he is going to want now with these contracts, and add in a Danny Heatly who is aging quickly and never can win when it matters, plus injury prone guys like Koivu and meh players like Clutterbuck and Setoguchi, I don't like their team at all.

Overall, C+, and 10th place finish in West, IMO.

Parise's overpaid, but you have to a little to secure stars in this league, especially those that aren't homegrown.

But L.O.L. at Suter getting that much. Minny's going to regret that one, I'll tell you that right now.

Although I doubt this makes the Wild a playoff team, these signings bug me as an Avalanche fan who really wants to see them in the playoffs consistently.

Schlossman ?@SchlossmanGF
Zach Parise has the fourth-richest contract in NHL history behind Ovechkin, Crosby and Kovalchuk.

I'm sorry but,

Because of the number of years. The cap hit's a lot (and like I said, he is overpaid) but it's reasonable for a player of his stature. Of course, what we also have to take into account, is what's that cap hit going to look like when he's 35+?

But the real gem in that is that also means RYAN SUTER has the fourth-richest contract in NHL history.

Which is the most retarded part, the 7.5 mill cap hit isn't that bad.

Yep, jokes on Minny why they celebrate across the state for a team that will struggle to make the playoffs at best.

All this being said, there are still some guys that can help out other teams. Shane Doan, Semin (do not want ever), Matt Carle...and of course you've got the high trade potential for both Rick Nash and Bobby Ryan.

Personally, I think the best thing for Pens/Wings fans who lost out (Wings needed either player more) is to just hold out until trade deadline.

Have you seen the 2013 Free Agent class? One of the most loaded and deepest in YEARS. The trade deadline for rented midseason players from those teams will be all over the place and plenty available. The Pens have over 11 million in cap space, and who knows what the new CBA is going to bring? Rumored to up the Cap Space to 73.2 from the current 70.2 million.

Dave Molinari ?@MolinariPG
Columbus Dispatch reports Pgh. is on Rick Nash's list of teams to which he would approve a trade. No evidence of strong Pgh. interest in him

Do not want, but found it interesting.

I don't think Detroit really "needed" Parise, but Suter was a must get. Now that Carle signed with Tampa Bay, I don't know who we'll turn to. I guess maybe trade for Yandle. I also assume we'll go after Semin and pair him with Datsyuk. Might make a trade for Ryan.

For what? Making offers like half the NHL?

Your such a terrible troll.

Good thing the Caps suck, think they'll go .500 next year? Doubtful.

Alex Semin's agent, Mark Gandler: "No question, playing in Pittsburgh would be great. Alex would love to play with either Malkin or Crosby."

Oh shite, even thinking about Semin in a Pens uniform scares the shite out of me, but gives me a boner at the same time.

Could be deadly, in a good or bad way. So sketchy.

That being said, I don't think this happens.
