What percent?

The agreement allows for signing bonuses that count toward the cap but are subject to a limit of 10 percent of the player's salary. There are additional rules for exceeding the cap with signing bonuses, but the effect on the cap is low because of the signing bonus limit.

Its going to be hilarious when Pittsburgh signs Parise and still don't make it out of the first round. Not to mention I don't think a strong willed captain like Parise is going to like Crosby's crying and softness.

Probably win the Cup.

Except they are good friends.

If he picks the Penguins, it will be because of Crosby.

They already have two of the top five players in hockey in Crosby and Malkin. Add in Parise, and this team will look like the Miami Heat of the NHL.

more reason for everyone to hate them

lulz

they will have 3 stars for sure but other teams will be much deeper, that was clear vs philly this year

Kings have to be the favorite, they are young and will just get better

Yeah I think he will do really well with all of Colorado's young forwards. I'm also confident Varlamov will show more consistency this year.

Not really.

The Pens won it in 2009 with a healthy Crosby/Malkin and Fleury on his game.

It's not like Hal Gill/Max Talbot made them "deeper" than other teams. Because they weren't.

If the Pens stay healthy, have the best 2 lines in all of hockey, and Fleury on his game, highly likely they win the Cup. And let's not forget, Vokoun is a very solid upgrade from Brent Johnson.

Probably why they are favored to win it without Parise.

Kunitz-Malkin-Neal was the Penguins #1 line last year, and that line got Malkin the MVP.

That line will now be the #2 line, going up against #2 D pairings, with the #1 being Dupuis-Crosby-Parise potentially.

Good fricking luck.

Dave Molinari ?@MolinariPG
RDS, a French-language network in Canada, is reporting that G Martin Brodeur will re-sign with Devils for two years.

yes they did, once those guys left the pens they were still good on other teams. Mad Max was huge vs the pens

troll post, name a better top 2 lines in hockey than Dupis/Crosby/Parise #1 and Kunitz/Malkin/Neal #2.

How many #2 lines are going to have the fricking MVP on it? oh yeah, none.

Oh and like I said, they are favored to win the Cup without Parise, go to a Vegas book site. 7 to 1 odds, highest in the NHL.

Laugh now fricktard.

Sorry your Caps blow and you mad they gonna be even worse now.

Troll elsewhere.

Not surprising. You never know when one "tests the market" but it would have been odd if he signed somewhere else, especially at this point in his career and the fact that he's already won numerous Cups, so it's not like he's chasing a championship. Why ruin your legacy by switching teams like that? It was a simple ploy to have the Devils better their offer to get more money and/or get a multi-year deal by telling the Devils what other teams were offering and having them match it.

ETA: 2 years, $9 million. I can say with near certainty the Devils weren't offering that before free agency. Not for a 40 year old who finished lower than 30th last season in save percentage. But the Blackhawks probably did, and the Devils matched.

Which leaves the question, how much money did they give him and with their limited cap space, does that pretty much rule out Parise resigning?

Probably so.

See edited. 2 years, $9 million. A relatively hefty sum. I think they're out of the Parise race and they know it.

How is it being a homer?

It's just a fact. You are confused.

Crosby+Parise = Top line in NHL

2nd line of Malkin+Neal = best 2nd line in NHL.

Lmao@the NHL MVP on the 2nd line.

Only an idiot would even argue against that so I rest my case.

Top line yes, I said Top 2 lines which you said no, so can you read?

No, 40 goals 41 assists speak for themselves.

well Sid was out

Which should be even scarier right? A first line that won Malkin the MVP is now stepping down to the 2nd line against weaker D Pairings and other teams' 2nd line players?

Like I said, you don't know me. Pens fan all my life, from the day I was born. Have a Martin Straka youth jersey from when I was a kid to prove it. Don't like the Blues, never did, never have, proudly wear my Malkin jersey at the Blues-Penguins games I go to.

You are as big a bandwagoner as I am.

Malkin will put up the numbers he always had regardless esp since he has been 2nd line most of his career so no real change.
