Again, I don't know where you are getting this, but the Wild twitter confirm their meeting later today.

Not on Nash's list at moment. Neither is Ottawa.

That list is going to expand as more and more teams say frick that, due to the price.

59 points last season and they want a pot of gold and the rainbow with it.

Maybe, maybe not. I'd think that's likely, but if it hasn't up to this point (through the deadline, draft, and now the start of free agency) maybe it never will.

I don't think they're going to have a choice.

Either lower the price, or expand the destinations.

They've been trying to trade him for a year+ now, take a hint as to why you still have him Columbus.

Asking way too much for an overrated player and teams are not going to do it.

I'm not talking about the Jackets, I'm talking about Nash. He has a no-trade clause. As of now, he's not willing to go to Carolina or Ottawa. That could change quickly, but maybe not.

Also, this trade is quite possibly, without exaggerating, the most important move in the history of this franchise. It absolutely cannot be screwed up.

I'm talking about both. The reason he hasn't been traded is because of what the Jackets are asking for.

Teams continue to pull out that he would go to, for over a year now.

Idk what Columbus is thinking, but if they don't get rid of him before the season starts they are screwed.

The exact opposite is happening right now. Carolina and Ottawa are both very interested, but a trade is not possible because Nash won't allow it. There is not evidence teams are pulling out. It makes sense for us to hold out until after free agency. If Pitt signs Parise, it's very likely either the NYR/Philly get desperate and overpay even further for Nash and/or a bidding war ensues.

The other thing is...

is not true. He is under contract. He can be tried to move again next year if it doesn't work now. He loves Columbus, there's a reason he signed here very long term, but the organization has been so poorly ran that he knows it's almost impossible to win here. Still, it's not one of those things where he just wants to get out of the city as fast as possible. If he wanted out so badly, he wouldn't block a trade to Carolina/Ottawa.

It's not like Nash is an upcoming free agent and it's the deadline. He's signed for the next six years. There is no point to rush a trade and get a bad return. And if Nash then complains about September coming around and he is still in Columbus, then we can tell him to either expand his list or accept it.

Zach Parise could be riding shotgun with Sidney Crosby for the next decade.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to offer Parise, the best forward available in free agency by a landslide, a 10-year contract between $75 million and $80 million, according to Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

geez then after a Malkin deal that does not leave room for any team to build around

I'm guessing you haven't seen how loaded the 2013 Free Agent class is.

You think teams are going to overpay for Rich Nash in 2013 when there is the most loaded FA class in recent memory?

Which is why I said they have to get rid of him now.

Never did I say anything about a bad return, I said lower the asking price a bit.

No point to get rid of him though? It's only KILLING your franchise even more by keeping him.

His numbers continue to decline each year, another season under 60 points and his value will only drop more, not to mention injury concerns on top of the loaded 2013 FA class.

Good thing the cap is going to expand and 3rd/4th line players are cheap as shite.

What is the asking price at this point? Nothing has been confirmed, just speculation. If it's something like Schenn, Courtier, and a first, that's too much, yes. Nowhere have I seen that confirmed though.

Keeping Nash is not worse than getting an inadequate return for him. He is the captain, the face of the franchise, and one of the top power forwards in the game. It's not going to kill us if he stays.

I want him traded, yes. I want to get a good return, though.

Also, a thing to note, is his stats exploded after the deadline, perhaps because he got an extra spark to try to increase his trade value. Perhaps that will happen at the start of the season again, which would benefit us both on the ice (wins while he's here) and for his trade value.
