My opinion is that NFL teams cater to fans within an hour of their games. People like me or not part of the demographic they try to bring in.

Any bigger game on stub hub/ticket exchange is over 100

More like it's the principle. Why the hell am I going to pay $8 for 1 beer when I can buy a case for that price.

I stay home, and I'm a huge Saints fan - I can't stop watching RedZone.
RedZone is the shite. It's the ultimate thing to flip to during the commercials of Saints games.
Did I mention RedZone is awesome?

It really is.

The NFL has made the Sunday Ticket so popular that I can eventually see it hurting the actual attendance of games down the road.
Ehhh, Sunday Ticket is popular but I can't see it having that big of an impact. Teams have eight home games per year. Most fanbases will always fill the building each game.
Personally, I'm 3.5 hours away from my favorite team, so I go to the sports bar every Sunday for the 1 pm games, and then go home and tune in to RedZone. Can't beat it.

No Sunday Ticket. Cheaper too.
not everybody has Sunday Ticket though. I like football and all but I could carless if I missed the Houston Texans squash the Jacksonville Jags.
I guess living in the right region where they show the Saints every week helps. I also ride a charter bus over to New Orleans from Mobile. So you know, if I do spend some money on that Dome Foam I don't have to worry about driving back 2 hours with a buzz.

Not for nosebleed seats.
Just go to the Saints game in Atlanta. You can get good seats at a reasonable price while being surrounded by Saints fans. And when we win, you can second line around the stadium. It's pretty fun.

Maybe it's not in your budget. I don't know. The live viewing experience isn't free. Are we discussing which experience gets a greater return for the money invested or simply which do you enjoy more?

This. I like going out there & tailgating, then making the walk into the Dome with everybody pumped up about the game. It's one thing to hear the noise on TV during a game, it's another to be a part of it. Can't get that experience at home.

Truth.
People who complain about drink prices at bars, theaters, and sporting events are just whiney bitches.

I think big-screen tv's and HD have definitely made it easier to skip the live experience.
No doubt it is fun to go to a game live, especially in a stadium with good atmosphere. It is also great to know that you were there for important games. But watching at home is a lot of fun also, is so much cheaper, and doesn't take up your entire day.
I tend to attend one or two NFL or college games a year to get my fix of atmosphere and watch the rest at home.

100% correct. My issue, like I said, is that it doesn't work for me. To get the full experience I would have to not work on Monday and that just aint happenin.

I can afford it I just chose to be a miser with my money. That is how most successful businesses remain rich. They don't frivolously spend money. When I go to the movies, I stop at Walgreens to get candy and drinks for 1/3 the price too.

I like to go to 2-3 games a year for both the Saints and LSU. Other than that I like to watch them at home or at a friend's house. And those tickets are usually given to me for free. I have been spoiled over the years and have never sat in the upper decks of the Dome or Tiger Stadium.

I'm not going to argue, but yeah for nosebleed seats. And I'm talking of the bigger games like ATL, Dallas, Chicago, etc. Trust me I look on almost a weekly basis. Skins game last year was the cheapest I've been to in awhile and it was 94 list. ATL opening week tickets start at 156 30 rows up in the terrace corner.
I don't mind paying a premium to see a good team, price isn't an issue. But tickets are more expensive than earlier mentioned in the thread. I go half to see the game half to see family. So going to ATL is a wasted trip.

yeah, I go to at least 1 game a year, maybe two. I really don't mind spending money when I want to enjoy myself.
some people I know think its dumb to ride a bus over to the game. But the way I see it is, I'd just be spending money anyway for gas to drive over. Plus, you get to know some of the folks on the bus as the years go along.

it is but when the skins are on thats all im focused on, i dont change the channel b/c im not missing shite. If im at the bar watching the game and redzone is also on then ill check it out. Or ill stream redzone while having the skins on.
Best week for redzone is when your team is on the bye week, or playing sunday/monday night.

Last year when they sucked you could but when I went to the Panthers game during the 13-3 season (last game of the year when they already were in the playoffs), the cheapest was $120 for a pointless game.
and we still payed $25/ticket.
Saints games are more affordable than LSU games and they are more fun. Bring a flask into the game, problem solved
