They are in order by decade. What are you even bullshitting about? It shows that offenses this decade are the most efficient theyve ever been.

it not possible for more efficient offenses to create a less entertaining product?

It depends on how you view the game. If you want to see someone make a difficult 2pt shot because that's more entertaining vs seeing the ball moving all over to generate the best and most efficient shot.

I want to see variety. Again, looking at the opener:

Out of 173 shots taken, Bos and NYK combined for 91 three point attempts. To me, that’s overkill. I know why it is that way. I know that analytics favors the 3. I know how great ball movement and moving without the ball has become. That said, a long range 3 used to be a highlight of a game and now it’s lost in the shuffle.

Equating to baseball again…home runs are fun to watch, but I don’t want to see it a dozen times a game.

Bro go look at the link, the numbers aren’t in order. If you’re going to use the term semantics learn what it means first. Defense has been outlawed, no hand checks is the biggest one, no more physicality in the paint, all soft sagging zone type defenses which are easier to score on. This has a domino effect, defensive players become devalued and are practically extinct now. There are maybe 6/7 good defenders in the entire league because they’re not needed anymore. You think that’s a good thing? There needs to be resistance to create competition, conflict and drama. It doesn’t exist anymore which makes the league boring.

Styles make fights and when the league legislates all but one style out of the game variety and innovation dies.

Agree to disagree. Handchecks are a cheap way to control a defender instead of using your feet/body to gain position.

Teams rarely go to this soft zone in the NBA due to how skilled shooters are taking over the league. Most teams switch or play box and 1, definitely not this soft "zone". You're wrong, and the rest of your bad paragraph is irrelevant because you don't watch the league enough to know what's even being played.

Good job outing yourself on not knowing what you're talking about.

Like I said, when you don’t like the truth you start lying and throwing fits. Like I said you can’t be objective about anything because you’re insecure and ignorant.

Funny if the 3 point shot were so effective and these players were so automatic with it why is drop coverage the #1 used and #1 most effective coverage on ball screens? Kind of an oxymoron no, to give up the very thing you claim is the best offensive weapon. These coaches must be so stupid lol.

Because NBA teams want to drive and finish or drive and kick, and most ball handlers in the league are so lethal once they drive they'd rather pick their poison by dropping. A lot of teams simply don't have the depth or personnel to switch constantly, and the ones that do win titles (BOS/GSW)

And a quality catch and shoot 3pt shot is more effective than most guys shooting 3s off the dribble. But you already know that.

But you just said the exact opposite. Again you can’t be objective or honest because you lack knowledge and are too emotionally stunted to discuss anything rationally. The topic has to be narrowed very specifically with only surface level information for you to even have input. If it goes any deeper than one line you read on Twitter you become agitated and throw fits.

No i didn't. I gave you the defenses teams prefer to run, what they normally run based on rosters, and what quality shots are. Oh and

This is coming from the guy saying playing defense is outlawed. You're full of shite and got caught.

It's not. You're wrong. The league is great to watch. You outed yourself by saying teams play a soft zone and drop coverage isn't soft by any means if the players rotate properly.

You say defense is outlawed but there are more defensive schemes than ever before.

What an awful look for you.

Are there more defensive schemes today than 20 years ago?

Are teams more efficient offensively this decade than ever before?

If you answer yes to both of these questions and still don't like the league, you prefer a lesser brand of ball to be played for "theatrics" sake

If you say no to either of these questions, you're lying or don't know ball.

Pick your poison.

Have y’all watched these guys at shoot around? They don’t miss.
There were periods that people look back on as “superior,” like in the mid-90s through mid-2000s, where the offense got so bad that they moved, non-corner, 3 point line closer to the basket for a couple seasons, and players still shot worse from 3, 2, and the free throw line, despite more restrictions on the defense with the exception of hand checking, which might be the most overrated rule change in the history of sports.

Hell nowadays, people wonder if the 3 point line should be moved further from the basket.
