After taking a 3 game break to consider his decision, Chase Young is going to the NFL.

Good luck to him.

You could have put his name in the thread title

Why is every post on here a “gotcha” thread. This board is turning into the SECR

ya know in these divisive times we live in, a lot of people won't really agree with me, but nevertheless I feel I just have to say this:

I liek football

After being bombarded with it every play for the last 2 months, even when he's on the bench, you have to assume everyone knows who I'm talking about.

It felt like every defensive snap we had a highlight on Chase Young pre-snap and he did nothing.

And they just kept doing it.

It was pretty hilarious. The guy is a great football player, but that was so absurd.

Gus just said, “Mighty...Chase...Young” again.
There will never be another one like him.

I mean the hate for Young, and by extension OSU, is absurd here

Only surpassed by the level of delusion OSU fans have about the "rigged" Fiesta Bowl.

I have nothing against Young. This is more about the media campaign that surrounded him.

If, with a straight face, you can tell me that Chase Young is a more important football player than Joe Burrow, then you're just selling something (referring to all the talking heads leading up to the Heisman announcement). As good as Young is, that was just never the case.

You think that game was called fairly?

OSU fans have all said OSU should have made a few more plays and the refs wouldn't have had an influence in the outcome. They didn't make those plays, so the blatant misses by the refs created an issue.

It's not just OSU fans who have said they got hosed either

It’s just LSU fans.

I assure you if they had a player with ~16 sacks they WOULD be the greatest defensive player in college football history according to them.

nope
it was quite evident that OSU was getting all the share of the calls.

I mean why not? OSU vs LSU would get far more TV views than Clemson LSU

Clemson was able to prevail while the refs held them down/

The Heisman isn't about the most important player. It is awarded to the most outstanding player. There is a legitimate argument that Young is further above other DEs than Burrow is above other QBs.

I said for months Burrow should have won the heisman, and he did. Chase Young is a 'safer' first round pick, only because QBs in bad systems or on bad teams flame out often. I don't expect it to happen to Burrow, but it has happened to very good college QBs before

The media jizz fest for this guy was so absurd. especially given that he was suspended for taking extra benefits

right cause LSU/So La fans would never claim a game was rigged because of a bad call that went against us

define fairly? A bad call, even an egregious one (see 2019 NFC CG) doesn't mean the game wasn't called fairly. And the only call tOSU has a legitimate beef is scoop and score fumble that was over turned. The targeting is a bad rule but called correctly.

What about 3 awful calls that were all on plays that greatly benefited Clemson and changed the game?

1. Targeting - egregious hands to the face not called on Young. Targeting would have stood, but replay the down

2. Roughing the kicker - OSU player was thrown down by his facemask and no call

3. Scoop and score - you covered adequately.

As I said, I agree OSU should have won in spite of these bad calls, and they didn't execute well enough. However, you shouldn't have to also beat the refs (as the Saints do because of Bountygate a decade ago)
