i think spieth is out, but there's precedent for a comeback ... curtis strange opened with an 80 in 1985 (12 shots back), but carded a 65 and 68 the next two days and had it -4 in 12 holes in the last round to take a 3 stroke lead at -7 with 6 holes to go on sunday ... hit water on 13 and 15 and finished 2 back of langer ...

Everyone needs to just hold on till Saturday.
No wind in the weekend forecast, birdies will be dropping from all over the track, from Amen Corner to Butler Cabin.
They all need to just endure one more day of shite, have a pimento cheese and come out blazing Saturday.

Because if not, Spieth and anyone at 3 over is just 4 back. Sure, Hoffman might cruise to a championship. But...I don't think he wins.

His mom had a very successful surgery that the doctors felt extremely confident in and she doesn't need to have chemo at all.

This. Hoffman will collapse eventually. There's going to be a whole lot of moving on Saturday. Those going out late tomorrow should put up some nice scores as well.
