Yeah one thing I like/appreciate about Scheffler is that he isn’t some swing coach robot and his swing and mechanics are his own. As a person he is as a boring as it gets which is probably why he’s so fricking good

Completely disagree. He's the one that made it a global game at the professional level. He's the one that convinced Arnie to travel to the Open Championship early in his career when it was financially disadvantageous to do so. Sure, Jones and Hogan had done it previously, but when the People's Champion started doing it, the rest of the American professionals followed suit and elevated the Open's reputation.
Player is the first non-American Masters champion. Also, he's the only non-American to win the career Grand Slam. Absolutely belongs on the Mt Rushmore of professional golf.

That is a tough one…
Jack, Tiger , and Bobby Jones are a lock for me. #4 is hard with so many greats out there. I would put Hogan there….. after what he did after almost dying in that car wreck is about as close to amazing as it gets…..

And he is great
For the game. He is must see tv when he is in contention. Except for Tiger I can’t think of that with any other current golfer.

A few guesses:
-he’s European, Ryder Cup rivalries and all that.
-he won a lot, people love an underdog
-outspoken, and especially recently with respect to PGA vs LIV. This has become some weird mix of tribalism and weird politics with the mix of Saudi, Phil Mickelson, Trump golf courses, Nike, etc. This one seems especially dumb to me given that Rory has taken the lead in making the PGA Tour better, but for whatever reason not supporting LIV is viewed as an unjust attack on their side.

Exactly. The PGA needs Rory and the game is better off when he is in contention as he's the #1 draw when he is.
And he has a beautiful swing. The most mechanically correct/smoothest swing in the game IMO.

It doesn't make him not boring. Every golfer on tour is talented. Nobody is saying, frick Scottie Scheffler, he sucks. He's a great player. What I'm talking about is he doesn't move the needle for anyone outside of the golf world. That Netflix show did a great job of making the players interesting. The show was designed to make stars out of these guys. Even a guy like Joel Dahmen became a guy you want to root for. He didn't have to do anything outlandish. His personality was humble and lacking in self confidence. That was endearing to people because he showed emotion. Finau became beloved amongst a lot of female fans because he's a big time family man. You don't have to be outlandish, just be something other than bland.
