Isnt sandy lyle the name of the character that Adam sandler played basketball with in the movie where sandler is a firefighter that try's to act like hes gay with the guy from king of queens?

Can some one explain releasing the putter. I know what it means in regards to full swings . But letting the putter release is something I never understood.

If you’re an arc putter you have to release to not leave the face open
