Warriors lose in 6. Could have been in 5. Neither Boston nor Milwaukee made it out of the East. Lebron didn’t make it to the playoffs. And the NBA championship doesn’t even reside in the USA anymore.

Refs couldn’t stop those poor leg joints from breaking down

It only took GSW having all-time bad luck with losing 2 of their best 3 players to major injuries, on top of Iguodala and Looney both battling thru injuries too. Nobody was beating a healthy Warriors team.

It only took two devastating injuries for it to be competitive

You could make a strong case that the refs were working in the Raptors favor this entire series (Kawhi is getting the superstart treatment with travelling now), but it's all noise for message boards. This was a great run by the Warriors, and they probably won't be the same going forward. I think if KD bolts, they sign and wait on Klay and use the KD money to shore up the roster. They need more scoring options. Toronto had 6 or 7 guys that you had to keep an eye on. Steph and Klay were basically it for GS.

I like Silver’s model over Stern’s model. Stern’s NBA bent the rules to make sure the Knicks, Lakers, Bulls and Celtics were competitive. Silver’s NBA still needs competitive balance but I like that the superstars and superteams are likely to be in OKC and Cleveland just as much as they are likely to be in NYC and Chicago.

A history of Golden State facing injured opponents in the playoffs

2015 First Round: Played New Orleans without Jrue Holiday, their starting PG

2015 Second Round: Played Memphis without Mike Conley and First Team All-NBA defender Tony Allen

2015 Conference Finals: Played Houston without starting PG Patrick Beverley

2015 Finals: Played Cleveland without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love

2017 First Round: Played Portland without starting Center Nurkic

2017 Second Round: Played Utah without starting PG George Hill

2017 Conference Finals: Played San Antonio without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker

2018 First Round: Played San Antonio without Kawhi Leonard

2018 Second Round: Played New Orleans without DeMarcus Cousins

2018 Conference Finals: Beat Houston after Chris Paul was unable to play Games 6 and 7 (Both Losses for HOU)

Exactly Durant would of won 2 by himself which opens up curry and Thompson. Without Thompson or Durant, stopping curry isn’t as daunting.

They tried their best. Steph got 2 free throws very late for tripping over his own legs.

Has the NBA ever had a team go from last place at the midway point of the season and go on to win the title? I cant ever remember one...oh wait i do, it just happened in the NHL. The NBA has the most least important regular season of any professional sport. The ratings show its a declining product.

What can the NBA do to better promote parity? They've created a system where superstars like Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard have to give up at least $30 million to leave their original teams. At any given time, there's maybe six or seven players who's capable of leading their teams to a title and if your team doesn't have one of those players, you have no shot. There's nothing the NBA can do to have parity like the NFL and NHL without completely changing the rules of their sport.

I didn't see an asterisk on the trophy last night. Did they weld it to the bottom or something?

Then so should the Warriors first title when Kevin Love and Kyrie were both hurt.
