You’re asking people who don’t even understand the game of basketball at a fundamental level much less the subtleties of the changes in the game or even why they happened to have an in depth conversation about it. They’re ignorant about the game now much less an era they didn’t witness and hate at a visceral level. Good luck buddy.

Don't forget the old school flip phone.
Also, I can't think of Malone without thinking of Kimmel's Karl Malone

Kind of in poor taste now, but I always think of a drunk Malone hitting on Vanessa Bryant during a Laker game.

Ah that’s some funny stuff right there

Could you imagine what Jordan would do if he ever heard WestCoastAg's comments? Jordan would have his cigar and baseball bat ready to go. By the end WestCoastAg would be whimpering in the fetal position and begging for mercy. Twenty years from now Jordan would still hate the dumb bastard.

In 94, that was Pippen’s shot. I get Phil is trying to win and all, but that shot goes to Pippen.
There was 1.8 seconds left.
Kukoc was more of a shooter than Pippen was and they needed someone to get off a quick shot.

Yeah, great. Didn’t matter with MJ. It was “get MJ the ball”. Pippen had one chance to step out from under MJs shadow. And it was a tie game, so it wasn’t exactly a “must go in” situation.

The 96 Bulls team, or I've heard it said that the 92 Bulls team (2nd of their first 3 peat), would have likely beaten any other team in a 7 game series in the history of the NBA.
An indisputable fact.

The point is to win the game not to massage someone’s ego. Jackson made the right choice, they won and Pippen acted like a jackass. This was proven by the fact that he was in tears after the game realizing that he had made a critical mistake and openly apologized to all his teammates. And of course he had many more opportunities to step out of Jordan’s “shadow”, which btw only ignorant retards believe in the first place, by winning a title, playing for one or making other key game winning plays. It’s hard to believe anyone even thinks this way.

Sure, because no team in the 90's was averaging more than 5 three point attempts per game, let alone a quarter like they are now. But no team was playing defense in the 2010's like they were playing in the 90's.
It goes both ways
This. It’s impossible to compare. Stick the KD Warriors in the 90’s with that style and those rules and officiating and they’ll lose. Same thing with the Bulls in today’s era. The peak of the NBA was the 90’s. Basketball has evolved since then but it’s purest form was in the 90’s.

and my point is that doesnt matter cause teams are just as good at stopping offenses today as they were then
What a delusional take
This guy has been trolling the whole thread and you guys fell for the bait

To be fair, the idea of basketball's purest form is even more subjective than debating what team is the best team of all-time.

I mean, is it?
It’s hard to look at today’s NBA and call that quality.

Its also a huge misconception that teams shot so few 3s in the 90s. In 94-95 21.5 three point attempts per game led the NBA. By comparison that number was just 26.6 as late as 2014 so these people claiming that the 1990s game was akin to 1970s basketball and is so primitive compared to now obviously have never watched games prior to 2015.

Yes, because there are people who prefer the 2010's to the 90's and vice versa, hell there are people who prefer the 80's over both. Some people stan the ABA days because that was the first time basketball was about the flow of motion and not rigid set plays with three dribbles before a pass.
It's literally ALL subjective.

But that’s assuming the game has evolved schematically. It’s actually been dumbed down by a lot and the rule changes have simply handcuffed defense to allow more scoring so it’s a forced numbers game not an organic leap forward. Some of the rules were necessary because what the Bad Boys started and continued into the 90s was ugly and a perversion of the NBAs style but most of them were to recover from the influx of too many young players who couldn’t play the game correctly.

You could def make a solid argument the 2017 Warriors are the best ever ranging from talent to record to stats to playoff outcome, etc. What may work against them historically is the quality of their playoff competition outside of the Cavs in the Finals I think, San Antonio played without Kawhi basically that entire series due to Zaza’s cheap shot totally different and lesser team and Utah wasn’t a serious contender for the title that season despite winning 51 games, they kind of had an easier road to the Finals than simple numbers will indicate. I think what helped the legacy of the 86 Celtics endure next to the absurd home record, elite depth, and underrated versatility was they completely OBLITERATED top and loaded competition after the first round (successfully withstood MJ’s 49 and 63 point performances the first two games still): 86 Atlanta Hawks led by MVP runnerup Dominique Wilkins and the supporting cast that surrounded him Czar as HC and the 86 Milwaukee Bucks with Nellie as HC and all the talent and depth they had, two underrated great teams of the era because they didn’t win championships due to how tough the Eastern Conference was and the Celtics kicked their arse like it was nothing. Like Simmons wrote in his book a Sistine Chapel of a playoffs performance.
