The human element in college football needs to be removed immediately

People are stupid and too emotional. This thing needs to be totally fact-driven.
Come up with a set of rules, ie must win conference championship. Factor in strength of schedule at the end of the regular season. Select top 4.
Really simple. Now you don’t have an emotional Herbstreit saying a 2 loss UGA deserves to jump up to #3.
Come up with a power ranking so guys like Herby can eat a bag of dicks.

They should've just used the BCS rankings IMO.

I always thought they should have just kept the BCS formula to figure out the top 4 instead of this BS committee

I agree with you. This is ridiculous that college football is hamstrung with this crappy way of deciding a champion. The bowl system is the only reason. They will not do away with it and have a real tiered playoff.

2/3s of the bcs formula involved human voters dawg

Would be better than what we have now.
Massey Composite had Ohio State ahead of Oklahoma before this week's games. Would probably be a really tight race for the #4 spot tomorrow.
Georgia would have no chance, obviously. The poll voters would crush their chances.

Like the BCS? I dont disagree and I wish we still used the BCS rankings. Its just a lot of people hated them

Exactly like the BCS minus humans.
Make the AP and Coaches Poll obsolete.

For that to happen, they’ll need to remove all jackasses from E$PN from the process.

He doesn’t need another reason.

I don't really know what everyone's problem is. We got 3 undefeated major teams and theyre all getting a shot. We're arguing about deficient 1-loss or even 2-loss for the 4th spot. If we go to 8 we're just gonna argue over 3 loss teams in that spot.
Right now we've got a system where a 2004 Auburn doesn't happen, 2003 USC doesn't happen. 2011 Ok State doesn't happen. Undefeated teams are a lock, 1-loss teams generally have a decent but not guaranteed chance. That's the way it should be. 1-loss teams that lose the crapshoot have no one to blame but themselves

People forget about this. The computers always had some anomaly. Like it would have UCF at 1.

A few polls got added late, Oklahoma inched ahead of Ohio State in Massey for last week. But obviously very close.

So we can have Nebraska and Oklahoma all over again? They tried to make it more computer based and it failed

The original BCS rankings was very formula/data based and everyone lost their shite after 2003 and demanded the human element back.

I think most people just hated picking two teams to play for the national championship. I don't think many people will have any issues using those rankings to pick the top four or six or eight teams to make the CFB Playoff.
