If you want the best teams and the regular season to matter, go back to a 2 team NC or 4 team playoff. If you want expansion, don’t complain when a bunch of teams that don’t win their conference or don’t play in a conference don’t get in.

The P6 get byes. Combine the others into a G4 and have play-in games for the last two spots.

But the real answer is that back when we had only 2 or 4 teams we thought #11 and #12 wouldn’t really matter. Like who cares who gets it at that point, at least we know all the best teams are covered. #3 and #5 was the issue to solve back then. But now here we are arguing about number 12. And I think they knew this would happen and the media feeds into the controversy knowingly and the plan for 64 team madness is inevitable because they want to milk this pig dry
