This was awesome to watch/skip thru. Couple highlights

Not having Manning at 1 seems so wild in hindsight. Kiper also didn’t have Randy Moss as his #1 WR or in his top 12 players

My jaw dropped when this trade popped up. The Chargers are kind of lucky Ryan Leaf ended up being one of the biggest busts of all time, because otherwise all we would talk about is how outrageous that compensation was to move up one spot, even for a QB

There’s some great clips in there later where they talk about how great of a leader and how solid Ryan Leaf is off the field

This trade ended up kind of clogging up the rest of the trade market in this draft, they had constant reports of teams trying to trade up, but teams wanted an insane haul because of what the Cards got to barely move down

Teams were killing themselves to try to move up for runningbacks in this draft, felt so weird to watch

The absolute wildest moment in this broad cast is around the 1 hour mark of the video. Where active NFL coaches and NFL front office personal like Dick Vermile and Tony Dungy went in front of a camera on ESPN and just shite on Randy Moss for like 5 minutes. This is like 15 picks before Randy Moss got picked and you have coaches going on record saying that he’s completely off their board and one guy half way comparing him to Lawrence Phillips. Can you imagine someone doing that this year?

Other fun stuff: this video includes the full broadcast so it has the original 90s commercials in there which are a fun blast to the past, also Chris Berman nearly has a live meltdown after a few technical issues halfway into the show

Highly recommend if anyone is bored as hell I wish I could find more of these

ETA I’ll also add that from what I saw, there was not one sad sob story piece about a player with a dead relative or cancer etc. so it was nice seeing a draft production where they just talking about the draft

I remember everyone was drooling over Andre Wadsworth. The Cardinals got a haul for a player they always planned on drafting.

It’s a good reminder to basically ignore what any of these guys really think good or bad, because they had a ton of dudes that washed out quickly in the league that the analysts would be like “This is a guy whose a safe pick. He’s going to spend the next 10 years on your roster guaranteed. That’s why they picked him”, then you look it up and they were cut in year 3 or some shite

I mean it wasn’t quite as bad as the Aaron Curry year, buts it’s funny watching how my hyperbole gets thrown around when you have the benefit of hindsight

Jags drafted an all time underrated back Fred Taylor in 98.

This stuff is why it cracks me up that Bill Simmons new favorite take to say is that “Worst case scenario for Kyle Pitts is that he’s Travis Kelce. So if you draft him you know you’re getting that.”

Pats tried like hell to trade up for Charles Woodson and Fred Taylor and couldn’t justify the price

Ended up with a guy who was out of the leg after a year due to injuring his knee at the pro bowl following his rookie year. Tough break

did he really say this?

The best part of this take is BS doesn’t even watch CFB. I mean Pitts is a beast but in a sport where can’t miss guys bust 25-35% of the time (maybe more?), to claim that someone’s floor is a HOF player and you make this claim without watching CFB - wild

NFL "Must have the expressed written consent of the National Football league show this video"

Kodi users "Do I need a VPN to stream this illegally?"

Youtube "Hold my beer, we will let you upload this shite and view at will"

Pitts could be Aaron Curry or Kellen Winslow. The narratives around him are silly AF.

Trump-like swagger from young John Elway as they recounted how he told the Colts to DIAF

The 2018 draft with all those QBs is on there and I watched some of it last year leading up to the draft when I was bored as hell. Even with how recent it is some of the takes on there are hilarious now too

This was pre Manning and then Brady rules implemented after his playoff losses to the Pats where they mugged his receivers in outdoor cold Foxboro.

This was before the game became pitch and catch Arena Football and an Arena guy like Kurt Warner would rule the league for a few years.

This was before the league realized the QB is EVERYTHING and nothing else matters with the rule changes.

He was one of the ones that the broadcast was like “he’s such a safe pick, worst case scenario he starts at guard for you for the next ten years”
