I think this getting overlooked a lot.
Whatever you think of who is right and wrong, Leach is a good but not great coach.
In a smaller conference he would do extremely well, but put him in the SEC and I think even getting to 9 wins consistently would be a struggle for him

Really? .... Really?
Yes, really. Really. He didn't get fired b/c he pissed of Craig James; he got fired because of the way he dealt with university administrators who were already sick of him.
If I'm Leach, I play nice and suck all the administration dick I can until I've got that bonus, but his ego wouldn't let him.

I wonder what all these people who hate on Leach have to say about Bear Bryant taking those poor young boys to Junction back in the day.
exactly. I just posted this in another thread. Pretty soon, the coaches will just be moderators like they are in the NBA. (or in the near future, maybe parole officers)

like i said in another thread...its not like the kid suffered a massive head injury and was locked in a closet and left for dead as Craig and Adam James would have everyone believe.

No one said he did.

...reading comprehension, bro. They are two seperate ideas. You see, ESPN's coverage is biased by their association with Craig James. Now stop. New thought. TTU fricked Leach and it very well could be because of disagreement between the two parties - but all indications are, they tried to punish him for doing nothing wrong and demanded that he sign some paper admitting guilt and he refused. There is no doubt that there was pressure from Craig James (and the ESPN family of networks) to fire Leach because of James own issues with him - but, no one has claimed that there was a direct cause/effect between Leach's firing and Craig James demanding it.

Fair enough. I wish I did. He seems pretty cool to me - I'd like to see if I'm right or if it's my limited ability to see him in interviews, etc.

Have you read any other threads, "bro?" Plenty of posters have accused Craig James of taking Mike Leach's living away from him.

Alright, I'll throw in a caveat. No one in the threads I have posted in are claiming that. I don't think Craig James is a bad guy, but it seems clear to me from other players comments, coaches comments, and Adam James little internet video that Adam is an entitled douche whose attitude is a drain on the team. Craig James defiantly was trying to use his clout to attempt to affect his son's playing time and when the incident occurred, James complaints to the university and in the media did start the gears in motion. As I have said in multiple posts, Craig James was no doubt doing this out of love for his son, but that doesn't mean that he didn't overstep. Further, ESPN, his employer, has picked up a crusade against Leach.

Bottom line is that Leach fed TT, ESPN and the James with the material.

Not sure what you mean.

I think his point is that Leach fricked up, so he deserves having everyone pile on.
I think that's a load of shite IF that's what he really believes.

This is the only part of what you said which is remotely close to my point.
Leach was already on the hot seat. He had to know that it wouldn't take much to get himself in hot water. Then, he picks the kid of an ESPN analyst to top it off. Yes, I think he fricked up and, moreover, I think he was an idiot, regardless of whether I think it was a big deal or not. The guy was just an idiot. Then his atty spoke way too much and then, Leach spoke way too much.

Let's see the parties we have in this particular situation:
1. A coach at a program with little to no history or tradition and he has nearly a 66% winning percentage, graduates well over a majority of his players, and is funny.
2. A spoiled kid who shows up to practice in street clothes wearing sunglasses in December complaining about a concussion that happened a few days earlier.
3. A washed up football player who was involved in a football program so corrupt that the NCAA banned them from football for a year and has had 2 winning seasons in over 20 years.
4. An administration that thinks that despite their crappy history that every coach wants that job and would never leave - even for more money.
So what party is the bad guy here now?
