Also great to see Aledo as #1 on there.
Before Buchanan got there, outside of one state final runner up they were usually the designated homecoming opponents for other teams.
Then Buchanan built the dynasty. Moved up to the AD spot whereby the "interim" coach won a title, became (of course) the permanent head coach. Then the new coach retired and Buchanan (tired of being the AD) came back to the field (and of course won another title).

Wisconsin’s choice is Arrowhead, which is in Hartland (Milwaukee suburb). Kids from, like, five towns attend Arrowhead + they compete in Wisconsin’s highest division.
I’m guessing there was a better choice here.

Sorry, I thought you asked how many titles does River Ridge have.

No Dillon Texas, no care

Don’t really have a problem with Aledo. But it’s really a small suburb of DFW. Not a classic “small town.” Doesn’t hurt that Texas has so many classes/divisions now... but for them to rack up all those titles in 20 years is still insane.
Programs like Plano used to be the benchmark. It took them 4 decades for 7 titles. Plano was impressive in winning in every class they grew into.

South Panola at #9 for Mississippi. West Point currently is a better program than South Panola. SP has won the State 11 times with the last time being in 2014. West Point has also won the State 11 times and has won it the last 4 years.

Makes a lot more sense now. I was thinking of RRHS in metro Atlanta.

I'm going to guess Piedmont for Bama?
Hazelwood, which isn't even open anymore.
Right now it has to be Piedmont, but some of those Danny Horn Clay County teams from the 90s and early 00's were really, really good.

For the state of Washington I would have picked Prosser over Royal or any of the lower level schools. Prosser is a small town that opted up and won against the big boys. Plus more notable alumni out of Prosser such as Kellen Moore.

Texas - Midland
I spent a few years in the oilfield there. Friday nights in West Texas reminded me of Saturday nights in Baton Rouge

quote:Yeah, the problem with John Curtis is it's considered Nola by everyone. My brother used to live in River Ridge when he was a resident @ Tulane, he'd just hop on Earhart and be downtown in 10 minutes.quote:

Really doesn't fit the "small town" angle.
Like others have said, Kentwood or Haynesville does that better.

Bobby Ray Tell was a monster for those mid 90's Haynesville teams.
He was a hell of a running back for sure. The original Darren Sproles.

Just to follow up on Bobby Ray Tell. He was the starting running back for Tech when they were a heavy pass oriented team with Tim Rattay, Troy Edwards and Head Coach Gary Crowton. He could've put up more impressive numbers in college if the offense was more run orientated. He was that good.
