I give Mauck a ton of credit on that play. He threw a perfect pass. Odell Thurman absolutely crushed him and he knew it was coming.

Georgia should have had that game put away by halftime, but that's a different topic

Even though the Clowney play was great, I’m surprised they didn’t go with Manziel’s crazy fumble touchdown pass against Alabama for 2012.

I was in Corvalis, Oregon for an OSU vs. Boise State football game. It was a painful game to watch and the bar we were in was getting hostile because Michigan was playing Oregon at the same time. So the OSU fans were trolling us all game cheering for UGA. Mauck to Green shut up the bar and we never got complaints after that. Was such an epic play after struggling for 3 quarters. CSB.

How in the hell is a blocked kick against Tennessee the best play of '09?

The Michigan/Michigan state punt defies all logic and physics

Hell, if Michigan's punter just falls on the ball, Michigan State has one play from the 40 and were probably out of FG range.

Still bullshite they didn't throw a flag on Cody for taking off his helmet during the play in 2009.

Still salty about it

In reality, it would've been extremely harsh to ever consider throwing the flag there.

I agree that the Green TD catch is a weak choice, though I don't know of any other plays that year.

I also think the 2014 one (85 yard TD run) wasn't that special. It was important that it iced the NC, but it wasn't that remarkable of a play.

I think of it as memorable plays. I remember almost all of them, but I doubt non-LSU fans remember the Green TD or that run.

The first one that came to mind was Matt Leinart catching the TD pass on the trick play against Michigan that put the Rose Bowl away.

ETA: Here's the play

To me OSU's trick play TD pass was a way better play in that same game

LINK

I mean this pass by a WR is better than 99% of college QBs could have made in that much of a pressure situation. Right over a stretching defender into the only place Thomas could make the catch, and an amazing catch as well

Happened several years ago in NFL. The defender thought he had the sack, but the QB flipped to olineman, defender takes off helmet and gets a 15 yard penalty added to end of lineman's run. KC kicks game winning FG w 0 time left.

That play was actually still going though. In the Alabama/Tennessee play, the Tennessee players were leaving the field as they would not be allowed to advance the ball unless Alabama touched it first.

But the play was still alive because the ball had not been downed, and in fact Bama was about to touch the ball to end the play. Could have had a Leon Lett situation right there, which probably would have made it the best play of 2009

FYI, I am not suggesting a flag should be thrown.

I agree with another poster questioning if it really was the best play of '09. May have been the most significant because I think that was the closets Bama came to losing that year.

I never realized that Ed Reed play was pretty pointless. They won the game with the turnover. In fact, Ed taking the ball was very risky.

The thing that made me mad about the play was that the Tennessee just gave up. That was a loose ball and maybe someone in orange could have made something happen with it had any of them bothered to try.
