Well, crap. My wife is a huge Rangers fan. Like, her dad watches every game and practically raised her at the ballpark kind of fan. Like the sort of fan who has a Steve Beuchelle jersey. She's kind of fanatical, as she smashed in a light fixture during Game 6 last year (which, to be honest, was very cool).

I like the Rangers. I live in Dallas. I go to about ten games a year and we watch most of their games on TV. But I grew up an O's fan and while I like the Rangers, I love the Orioles. I own a "Free the Birds" shirt. I can tell you the entire starting lineup of the 1983 World Series winner. I know the names of the umpires who screwed us (Rich Garcia in 1996, John Hirschbeck in 1997 though I blame Alomar for that one).

One game play in game? We are not talking right now. Seriously. It's chilly in the Baloo household.

I'm going to admit something...a woman with a sports team obsession is hot. I dig it.

My wife...well, she thinks the Cubs are an awesome basketball team.

No, my brother is. He lives in DC. He's been sending us taunting messages all year.

I know its crazy to enjoy watching the local baseball team play. Some of us look for joy in our lives, some look for anger. I'm sorry I enjoy life and embrace things that are fun.

make her this deal:

whomever's team loses, they become an honorary fan of the other team.

PS: I was an A's fan when they still were in Philadelphia. And I love the uni's. I wear an A's hat pretty much ALL THE TIME. I actually wore it during a prostate exam last week, and the MD commented, "you really like that hat huh", while he had his finger up me.

12-5.

Well, we do root for the other one's team. But you can't fake love. During Game 6, her family watched the game at our place, and it was like watching someone die. But here's the thing, as soon as the game was over, I was pretty much over it. It didn't stick with me because I didn't have a lifetime invested with the team like they did. I would've preferred the Rangers to have won, but I didn't live and die by it. It didn't matter all that much to me. I like the Rangers, but I don't love them. Same with her and the O's. She's gone to Baltimore and seen some games with me, and she'll watch 'em when they are on TV, but she's not too wrapped up in the game.

Mrs. Baloo and her family were just gutted after Game 6. It was like a wake. I calmly cleaned the broken glass and got another beer.

My wife loves football. When the Saints won the Superbowl, she was outside dancing in the street. But, she never has smashed anything. I only wish...

My wife is passionate about LSU baseball. The best sex I ever had was about an hour after Morris hit the walk off homer. I thought she had broken one of my ribs.

No. The only way to get her into soccer was showing her Barcelona play. Leeds doesn't get a lot of TV time.

We named our daughter after something Oriole related. She's on my side.
