Gotta tell ya, I’m finding it hard to find someone else I’ve ever done a 180° on the way I have AA.

Yeah. Pretty pissed if we're gonna roll with the same squad as last year. (Minus Anibal and Zuk). Especially not addressing the glaring needs we had. (Not picking up a FOR Starter, bullpen help, etc.)

Didn't take him long to fall under the influence of The Braves Way Sway.

Silly us for believing that, almost a quarter century after our last World Series victory, the Braves might have FINALLY been convinced it was time to move in another direction.

Fool me for the 1000th time, DEFINITELY shame on me, I guess.

It also irritates me that Teheran is still basically guaranteed a rotation spot even though he has clearly been a liability for the last two years. He gave up a double and a two run bomb in the first inning today.

Your opening day starter Julio Teheran

quote:

3 H, 3 R (2 ER), 0 BB w/ 4 K, including a 2-run Derek Fisher homer in 1st inning as his opening-inning woes flared even in a spring game.

Excuse #1: Nobody will give us what we want for him, ergo we must not only keep him, but start him and allow him to lose games for us!

Excuse #2: He's signed to a bargain contract! (Notwithstanding all that losing stuff, mind you.)

Well in all fairness Julio is just about our only starter who isn’t dealing with some kind of physical ailment right now. He isn’t just getting a rotation spot, he’s going to be our opening day starter again.

It’s been an absolutely putrid offseason. Shame we couldn’t capitalize on the momentum we had rolling from last year and get some help. Same old Braves. Take in $3. Spend .50 cents.

Sometime this week AA will make some comment about how we know what our needs are, we aren’t done, financial flexibility, right where we need to be, bullish on the young guys...

Braves twitter next week: WELCOME HOME BARTOLO COLON

Philly signs Keuchel and Washington signs Kimbrel.

Count me in this group as well. I'm not ready to grab the torch and pitchfork yet, and I realize we won the division, but AA has sat on his hands and watched the NL East grow strong. Like some of y'all are saying, I don't understand holding onto a declining Tehran and wearing out a glut of pitching prospects down in the minors.

I'd throw something at the wall if the Braves sign that fat frick again.

We only sign old guys. Can't go after a 27 year old catcher with 6 good years left in him. Better he goes to a division rival and scorches us for the next half decade or more.

Depends on what they pay Craig. I don't mind not signing him if it is something ridiculous.

I'm not gonna be an idiot and freak out after one uneventful off-season. The Donaldson signing could turn out to be the best signing by anyone value-wise this year. But not addressing the front end of the rotation and back end of the bullpen def leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Barring folty improving to a top tier guy this year, we don't have anyone that's close to being a game 1 lockdown starter.

Has anyone in south Mississippi, specifically the coast area, bought MLB.tv to watch the Braves? It says they are subject to blackout restrictions in my zip code, which is asinine to me.

I was trying to get away from reddit this year.

Given that there weren't any lockdown starters available this offseason, who exactly were you expecting him to get?

I can understand being pissed at AA for not signing someone like Cutch to fix our corner OF spot, and him not grabbing at least one more decent bullpen arm, but being mad about him not somehow grabbing a nonexistent front end starter is a weird complaint.

Certainly not in free agency. Who knows whether there were legitimate deals to be had via trade.

I agree that people screeching about getting Kuechel are just desperate

I have no interest in Keuchel. We have about 10 middle of the rotation pitchers in our system already.
