How do you figure? You have a guy under contract for 3 years with a $1M buyout option. You really believe that 3 years of control is the same as the final year of a contract? Kimbrel needs to be traded by the deadline this year. It's as simple as that.

It seems like maybe they were going to try to rebuil immediately, then decided later to just tank it.
