Here's something worth celebrating. Look at the wasteland that was our roster from Opening Day until the NLDS:
Lost for season:
-Two best LH relievers
-Best Long relief man
-Utility man
-Back-up utility man
-Two top 4 SPs
For significant time:
-Best player, starting RF
-Starting catcher
Still nearly had the best record in the National League. That's a lot to overcome.

he has NEVER used Krimbel in that situation. So it isn't a surprise he wouldn't use him last night
He's never been up a run on the road in an elimination game either. This wasn't the regular season, this was do or die and you had the game's best closer standing there ready to go watching from the pen.

Because Brian McCann. That's why

But it isn't as though Fredi did something new, he's always done that. He doesn't use Him in the 8th

and that's why Fredi is a fricking moron.

I believe Cox had a habit of doing it as well so he learned it from him

I'm just as upset with Fredi for not having the balls or sense to try and save our season there.....BUT can we put the blame where it belongs? Our best hitters came up small!! The pitching was good enough for the most part, but we only hit 1 HR and it was a typical meaningless one from Heyward....Mac goes 0 for the series and Ks 4 god damn times, Heyward and Freddie swing at terrible pitches resulting in a K and weak grounder in huge spot late...then Upton gets grooved 3 FB over the plate and he can't touch em....the only frickers that came thru were EJ and Constanza, and that pisses me off!! And kudos to CJ, he's the only regular that showed up all series!!
When LA got a bad pitch, they hammered it!! That's how you win playoff baseball, stepping the frick up when u get an oppurtunity...cause the pitching is usually going to be good to stellar with playoff teams

Yea, I was amazed at how many fat fast balls Upton missed in the series. He could have hit 3 or 4 home runs but was just missing them.

That was amazing to you? Aside from two separate 2-3 week stretches during the season I don't think he hit a fastball all year.

Would you agree that in an elimination game, you manage a bit differently?

More urgency, but I'm looking from outside in and can second guess. But Fredi didn't do anything he hasn't done before, had he brought in Kimbrel and he blew the save then we would hear about making him pitch 2 innings when he's never done it before

I've got a feeling we find a way to get rid of Uggla this offseason whether it be paying 20 of the 26 mill (or whatever it is he is still owed over next 2 years), or eating the whole thing.
Let's go resign Ben Sheets as well

He's pitched two innings once in his career. He actually blew a save in the first of those two innings, then came back and struck out the side in the second. I don't think anybody would be second guessing Fredi for asking perhaps the most dominant closer in the game to get six outs. He asked for four in Game 2, what's another two batters?

On another note, why when Uribe cant catch up to the 97mph fastball do you throw a 84mph slider?!
I posted this before Carp took the mound last night: His love for his breaking ball freaks me.
And he buried him twice in this series. Once to Hanley (shook off McCann to get to it) and then of course the final blow to Uribe

I'm super depressed guys. Why? Every time. Every damn time.

The moment we get rid of Uggla, that SOB is going to go off and end up hitting .280 with 40 home runs
