It's going to be a fun season.

I know he's only going to be here for a season, but I want to buy a Bartolo jersey. Maybe they'll have them soon in China, so I can get it for cheap.

Braves close to acquiring Brandon Phillips.

Brutal losing SRod. Considering Phillips won't cost much, I'm fine with him playing 2nd for us. Upgrade over Jace for sure. My only gripe is that I was hoping to see Ozzie sooner than later. This will probably delay him.

We better not give up anything more than a potato of a minor leaguer for him. I was really hoping we'd see Ozzie pretty early in the year, guess not now.

Supposedly two players being sent to Cincy. I wouldn't expect them to anywhere near prospects. We'll see soon I guess.

Huge Reds fan here. I wouldn't have minded the Reds just giving Phillips to the Braves for nothing, but since we are paying most of his salary I guess we'll get a couple of jakelegs back. I love Brandon, but he was blocking our rebuild by rejecting trades. I'm glad he finally approved.
ETA: Just read where the more Reds eat of the salary the better the prospects. Still no idea who they are.

That's about as next to nothing as you can get.

I wasn't saying the Reds were going to get some great prospects. We just wanted him to approve a trade to get him out of the way. I really think they'd gave him away for nothing which according to you Braves fans we did. Good deal for the Reds.

With the Rodriguez news, I'd play Jace at 3rd now that we have Philips, and let Garcia play sparingly. Then when Rodriguez gets back, play him at 3B and let Jace be a master utility guy.

After Garcia's second half last season I'd rather have him in the lineup almost everyday and Peterson as LH bat off the bench and utility player.

Garcia is going to platoon with Rio. Phillips deal doesn't effect him that much

I'm fine with paying Phillips 1 mil it's a win win.
