I'm very disappointed in Hanson. He was a boss his rookie year. I thought we were gonna get at least 10 years of that.

I wouldn't say I am disappointed. The flaws in his game were evident as a rookie. If he improved on them, he could have become a top of the rotation arm. He hasn't though. He still wastes too many pitches, gives up too many stolen bases, and doesn't have an out pitch. Combine all that with his steadily decreasing velocity and you have a guy who will probably be out of the majors in another year or two.

He has out pitches, he just has lost velocity, most likely due to shoulder issues, and is trying to overcompensate for the lost velocity and has lost all control because of it, which has made him extremely prone to walks and way more hittable, leading to way more HRs.

Either way, he needs to be gone from our team in the offseason, much like I you I see him collapsing completely in the next few years.

When I say "out pitch" I'm talking about something like Medlen's changeup. Something that he throws so well that he can always fall back on it. Hanson has good swing and miss stuff. He just doesn't have good enough command of any of it.
