You used a 3 game month to try and prove a point?

Juan Francisco is batting .236. Wish we would have kept him.

My point exactly. Nothing like what we have now.

Yeah, this is the main reason I'd like to see Uggla batting in the #2 spot of the lineup. Move everyone else down a spot and maybe flip Freddie and Justin in the lineup and I think you have our best lineup overall. That way you only have BJ and Simmons in a row at the end of the lineup.

For some reason I was thinking October was 8 or 10 days long last year, but yeah, that is still a pretty small sample.

Upton has been very streaky though throughout his career though. 80 games this year doesn't change that.

He's a career .248 hitter and averaged 14.5 HR's per season. He's more than 5 seasons removed from his .300
season. He's proved incapable of making adjustments this season. He's also is overrated in the field.

Had a fluke September that got many peoples attention. (including Frank Wren)...

He should be role player the rest of the season but he'll get a chance to start all over next season. We just have too much of an investment in him.

For a team that is so frugal about signing guys we make some boneheaded moves at times. We'll pass over 10 decent deals and then pull off a BS move like this one. I really don't understand it. You have a history of being unclutch and striking out, so let's sign a guy that does both.

Braves win.

I thought it was a great signing at the time. I figured BJ would do something like .250/.315/.470 over the five years with around 135 homers and 150 steals while playing good defense if healthy. He's obviously been disappointing so far but I think he'll turn it around and be worth his contract.

Also BJ has a reputation for being "clutch"...not that it really means anything

Yeah I think he'll turn it around. Maybe this injury was a good thing to give him a break to re-focus.

In other news, I'm starting to hope we re-sign McCann.

He'd get more money in the AL. It sucks, but he'd have to take a significant discount.

Yeah.. If we didn't give BJ 20 million more than any other team, I could see it. Maybe entertain him with a 2 or 3 year contract. But not now.

Good to know BJ is ready. They figured he was back after striking out three times last night.
