We're not getting him.

We simply don't have the farm to do it.

After watching Othani closely for the 1st time, good Lord, he is something very special. I’m not sure what it would cost, but as a GM you have to at least inquire about the cost.

I can’t imagine having him on the roster. Holy shite, that would be incredible.

Yeah.

You Guy's eyes are bigger than your stomachs. I get it. He's Ohtani But it's not worth shortening your window for a guy who will command the bulk of your payroll once his contract is up and leaving you unable to keep your own guys long-term.

Smart, well-run organizations like the Braves don't do things like that.

No, the Braves do not do stuff like that. This is more of a ‘I just bought a lottery ticket and am dreaming about what I’d do if I won’ type of a thing.

You inquire, but that's it.

Like Broski said, we currently don't have the farm for it and it would take Harris, Strider, Contreras, one of Wright/Anderson, Muller, and probably Shewmake.

That would cripple the franchise.

It is a shame that Ohtani plays on the West Coast.

Yep.

It's also a shame that the Angels are gonna waste him.

Ohtani and Trout both are wasted in that organization. It’s sad really.

I don’t in a million years expect to be in play for Ohtani. I was just trying to come up with fair value. I would think Grissom would be the only guy they would demand from the minor league side. He is the Braves best prospect without a close second. Then they would probably take some combo of Muller, Davidson, Tarnok, Shuster, Ynoa and then one of Anderson/Wright as you said and one of Harris/Contreras. Even then that feels a little light. You could probably lessen the volume of arms by including Strider instead but I wouldn’t be in favor of that.

I still don't understand for the life of me how Trout hasn't pushed to he traded to a contender. He's the best player in baseball and he's wasting away in Orange County.

He's a better person than I am.

Regardless it would be a franchise crippling deal.

Losing Wright would hurt. Love watching him pitch. He has near flawless mechanics.

Need to see if there is a Vegas line for Morton hitting someone on the back foot.

Ok. Time to get some runs. Lost in all in Ohtani discussion, the Mets are losing.

BTW, anybody noticed the Red Sox are down 25-3 to the Jays.
