You'd have to be a moron to think that it didn't rattle them at first.
But they are professionals. They know the business side of the game and they will move on. The leadership void will be filled(like AA said by committee or by TDA) and the team will chug along. I'm like AA in that I think team chemistry is more important than leadership. If the chemistry is there, then everything else will fall into place. Especially w/a strong clubhouse manager like Snit

This is the Player-DH rule that the NCAA uses to keep their best hitter in the lineup regardless of any defensive changes.
NFHS(high school) also adopted this rule in 2020.
