What's the deal with Matt Boyd? Is he still hurt? I'm weary of LHP coming off injury after the Hamels debacle

Some starters that are available that would be good, interesting options:
Zack Greinke
Jose Urena
Matt Boyd
Jake Arrieta
Danny Duffy
Zach Davies
Wade LeBlanc
Matt Harvey
Chris Archer
Johnny Cueto
Garrett Richards
Michael Pineda
Duffy or Greinke would be my hope

Let's sign Ureña and give Acuña 30 minutes alone in a room with him then release him

I doubt Harvey throws another pitch in the MLB after his testimony in the Tyler Skaggs case.
Many of the other options mentioned I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole

Honestly I rather get some SP depth than Soler at this point. Not sure who is out there and how much we have to play with, maybe someone a tier or two above Smyly to eat innings and be there in case of injury
Looks like we are just going to try and score 9 runs a game instead.

So I'm guessing opening day lineup will be this:
Rosario LF
Olson 1B
Ozuna DH
Riley 3B
Albies 2B
Duvall RF
d'Arnaud C
Swanson SS
Heredia CF
and then when Acuna comes back:
Acuna RF
Olson 1B
Ozuna DH
Riley 3B
Duvall CF
Rosario LF
Swanson SS
d'Arnaud C
Albies 2B
we still need another lefty bat off the bench.

AA doing more work.
In the span of 3 days, AA has pulled off a major trade, bring in an all-star 30+ HR hitting gold glove 1st baseman to fill a whole for a major departure. Then he locked him up with an 8 year, $168 mill extention, with a club option for the 9th year.
Then we brought in a stud, right-handed reliever. Which we needed.
Then he signs the NLCS MVP for 2 years $18 mill... Rosario might be a flash in the pan, BUT... there was definite chemistry there.
Then he gets a left-handed bench piece for $1 mill....
And if I had to guess, we'll pick up a middle of the road starting pitcher, probably older than 34, who has another descent year or 2 left in him... to help us get through 162.
I don't feel bad for Freddie, yet. But I'm sure thinking he and his agent have misplayed the market. If I had to guess, AA offered Freddie numerous opportunities to re-sign. My guess is, we offered something like 4 years, $125 guaranteed with a club option for a 5th year at $25 mill.
Whatever it was, AA wasn't going to mortgage the future or be saddled with a bad contract... there are too many of them to name and too many other players we may have to pay in the future - Swanson, Riley, Fried, etc.
Coming off a WS and and MVP season, I'm sure Freddie and his camp were thinking - 6 years and $200 mill. He's earned the right to pick the best deal for him... we love Freddie. He's a good as there is....
But... he is running out of eligible suitors, it would appear.

Freddie is really trying to squeeze that extra year out of the Dodgers imo

Jon Heyman @JonHeyman Word going around is Rays are being aggressive in Freddie Freeman talks. Hard to believe they are in at all on a free agent superstar to begin with. If they can outbid the Dodgers and Red Sox and everyone else, that would be something.

I'd love to see him in Tampa.

Jim Bowden??
@JimBowdenGM
Multiple executives believe that Freddie Freeman and his representatives may have over played their hand…so it will be interesting to see his final contract. #Rays #Dodgers #Padres #RedSox

Y’all don’t realize how quickly I’ll hate Freddie Freeman if he signs with LA. Sure, I’ll probably love him again when he retires, but it’ll be nothing but hate until then.

Good luck Freddie!

Damn I’m going to hate him when we run into the Dodgers again in the postseason
