Don’t think we can win until the old guard (Scheurholz, Cox, Snitker, Freeman, Markakis) etc are gone. They are just toxic to have around. Moment always too big for the “Braves Way” generation.

For as shitty as he played, Freeman still has a place on this team.

We have to re-sign Donaldson and bring a frontline starter.

I swear to God, if we have the same type of offseason that we had last year, then AA needs to go.

Looking back on this series, the Braves had their chances... and the loss revealed several holes on the roster -

I think there is plenty of blame to go around -
Bottom line is the Braves were the better team and coulda, shoulda woulda won Games 1, 2,3 and 4.

+ We had excellent SP in Games 2 and 3. Otherwise, the Braves need 1 Frontline Starter.

+ The bullpen couldn't hold the lead in the 8th innings of Games 1 and 4. Martin's injury hurt.

+ The middle of the order disappeared - Freeman, Donaldson, Kakes, and Mac. Absolutely atrocious with runners in scoring position.

+ Situational hitting. Small ball. Manufacturing runs.

+ And now with the retirement of BMac, the Braves need a legit Catcher. Flowers isn't the answer.

The Cardinals had so many of those broken-bat, bloop-find-a-hole clutch hits.... some of that is just random baseball luck.

Game 5 was just an avalanche. Quicksand. THey completely imploded under the pressure of Game 5.

But the truth is - the Braves should have wrapped up this series in St Louis.

Let's hope AA resigns Donaldson, acquires a #1 starter, more bullpen help.... and a catcher in the offseason.

I know it's too early to reflect.... but the Braves were 1 of the Top 4-5 teams in Baseball all season long, until yesterday. 97 wins is a really good season. It sucks that tomorrow will be what we fans choose to remember.

Starting at about the 7th inning in game 4, I’m not sure the Braves have played a worse 5 inning stretch of baseball all season

The end of the season was a complete disaster but it’s still hard to not be excited over the future of the Braves. The youth movement will continue and hopefully, this was the last game in Braves uniform for Keuchel, Markakis, and Julio

Braves may have the most interesting offseason ahead of them in baseball. The roster is extremely close to winning a championship IMO just need a few moves to push them over the top

And how many of the Braves runs in games 1 and 4 came off errors?

Donaldson is the big question mark for me. Hopefully volfan30 starts the offseason thread soon and breaks all this shite down

Now that I've had a night to think about it (even though I'm still bummed), I'm ready to give an honest assessment. This team was a ton of fun to watch all season. Once May rolled around, they were one of the 4 or 5 best teams in baseball for the rest of the year. The Braves were FOUR outs away from an NLCS appearance.

As much of a success as the season was overall, it still feels like a disappointment because of the higher expectations. Last year was great, and most of us just wanted this young core to get a taste of the playoffs. LA was clearly better than us. This year, I expected us to take the next step and win a playoff series. We were the better team than the Cardinals but not from the end of game 4 on. We didn't put them away. To make matters worse, we would've had home field vs. the Nats with a damn good shot to go to the WS.

They have to address some major needs this offseason, but this team will be right in the mix again next season.
