Acuna has a WRC+ in the past 15 games of 236
That’s absolutely fricking insane
Just in case anyone is wondering Olson over that same time span has a WRC+ of 21
if you remove the home run he hit last night which is the only extra base hit he has in the last 15 games it’s 14
Luckily Baldwin is on a positive trajectory upward and Harris remains the same guy he has been all year, and will be the team leader in WAR at seasons end for non pitchers. It’s very likely he can end the season up over 5 WAR. Maybe if he gets very hot even reach 5.3ish
Ronald is by far the best player on the team currently though as it seems like he has totally figured it all out and put it together at the perfect time.

That's why I said frick it.
It doesn't make sense, because his pitch quality still isn't grading particularly high, but lets just ride it like we rode Medlen that one season.

His splitter has graded as a + pitch since arriving in Atlanta. It’s been pretty filthy using the eye test too.
I will agree with you that his 4 seamer isn’t anything special by the metrics, nor is it like he throwing 99 mph + he averages 94.6 mph. He does locate it extremely well however.
And as I have said multiple times since we acquired him he went from a 4 pitch pitcher with the giants to using 4 seamer/splitter 90% of the time.
It’s obviously been extremely effective and he has been great using this approach but it worries me greatly in the playoffs relying on our #2 starter using a pure 2 pitch mix even if the splitter stays a + pitch

Medlen’s 2-seamer was knee buckling at that time. Mahle’s split is really good, but I don’t know if it’s as good as Medlen’s 2-seamer was
He’s been a fantastic get for us though.

This is an understatement.
He has been one of the top pitchers in MLB during his short tenure with the Braves and when you factor in we gave up a pack of gum and a 20$ bill to acquire him the return to value ratio is absolutely ridiculous.
Fingers crossed he can keep this up throughout the playoffs before inevitably he regresses to his mean, which when he is healthy is still a really solid pitcher, but more like a 3 ERA guy not an sub 1 ERA guy

Holmes has gone at least 6+ innings in his last 7 straight starts.’2 of them he left the game without giving up any ER at all.
Mahle has always been a good pitcher when healthy capable of giving you length
Holmes however hadnt been able to consistently give you length either due to poor efficiency and walks, or getting clobbered second and third time through lineups.
I am curious if Grant has actually found something that can be sustainable or if he is due to face extremely harsh regression at some point.
Mahle imo is doing something far more likely to be able to be sustained if he stays healthy. Although that 1.46 ERA will see some regression to at best around 2.50 or most likley for a full season sample size around 3.00
