Sale and the opponents best pitcher won’t pitch every night of the playoffs. The playoffs are a series of games.

Thinking if we start a hard throwing righty against a mostly lefty lineup, then bring Perez in, it would force either a lot of lefty-lefty matchups or force teams to go to their bench in the middle innings.

If we are going to piggy back I would go with Holmes or Perez followed by AJSS
I would also strongly consider using Diddier in our highest leverage situations whenever they happen to be at in the game, even if that makes him the closer. He is just simply much better than Iggy atm and save for Sale is the best pitcher on the roster currently
It would depend on the situation though and if it’s a 3 5 or 7 game series.
In a 7 game series I personally wouldn’t think its wise to start Sale game 1 and then again in Game 4 unless it is absolutely necessary and would prefer to go with a 4 man rotation.
But again it would be entirely situational and that would just be my preferences but it could all be subject to the variables of the situation.

Length of the series
Did we win both games 1 and 2 lose both or split?
Etc etc

Keep in mind that because we are likely in the wild card series, we won't be able to set our rotation should we advance to NLDS.

That’s true.
Depending on how things break down and if we are able to cleanly take care of business via a sweep in the divisional round (major IF there) it’s plausible we could get set out our rotation how we would like to for the NLCS
